Synthia's Side: It goes down in the DM Truthfully, I had been checking Ashley's Facebook profile out for a while before I approached her. I had even shown her photo to my Auntie Laura expressing how cute I thought she was with her pink hair:-). Any who, it was 10/20/2018 at about 1 am in the morning. I was on my way home from my co-worker’s house warming when I 'waved' in her messages on Facebook. When I got home and showered, I sent her another message, this time letting her know that I wanted to express an interest. While she hit me with a "lol hey hun...", I was persistent in letting her know I'd been checking her out for some time and wanted to get to know her more. The rest was DESTINED...lbvs...From that day forward, we have talked everyday and seen each other everyday. I didn't know, then, why I decided on that day to slide in her DM, but I know now! It was God! He knew what I needed, and he prepared Ashley for me. He waited until he knew I was READY to lead me down her path. Ashley's Side: Day 1 Connections It all started on October 20, 2018 at 1am in the morning. I received a notification in the form of a “wave” followed by a direct message on Facebook. At first I assumed she was trying to sell me something but her real interest was getting to know me. We sent messages back and forth momentarily and then she gave me her number. We literally texted for hours that night, and the next day I called her like “Heyyyyy Synthia”. I knew she was blushing because when she said hey back to me I could tell she was smiling hard from ear to ear. Since that conversation we have been inseparable.

Ashley's Side: When you know, you know! When I decided to propose, I wanted to make sure it would be unexpected, thoughtful, and unforgettable. I thought about it for sometime and the only thing my mind kept saying was “when you know you know, so why wait?” I didn’t act on it right away, until I went to the mall with intentions on getting some shoes. I walked pass a jewelry store and decided to go in, and I kid you not, I found the perfect ring for Synthia. It was literally like the ones she had previously told me she loved. So I ended up walking out the store with what would start our forever future. I started gathering information and thinking of different ideas to make the proposal how I wanted it to be. With the help of family and friends I was able to secure a place, and I had it all planned out, down to the song list. I contacted friends and family from my side as well as Syn’s side, and I loved the positive responses I received. I told Syn to keep note that July 11, 2020 we were having a special date night. Usually she would ask me a thousand questions trying to figure out what the surprise was but she didn’t, which made it easier to plan. When the day came, things didn't go as smooth as I had expected, the weather was looking bad, so I had to suddenly, and at the last minute, switch locations, and thanks to Mama Boiue, it wasn't to far from the original location and everyone was still able to make it there in time. I blind folded her before we got out the car and walked her to where our family and friends were. A couple minutes had passed, and she could hear my voice through the speaker expressing how I felt about her, and she just smiled and laughed until she heard me ask for her hand in marriage. She was overwhelmed and said “Yesssssssss!!!" One of the most memorable moments ever.
