Michael and Christine first met at a UCLA admit weekend as high school seniors. After an amazing weekend learning more about the university, they both decided to confirm their attendance to UCLA. They connected on Facebook that summer and both shared how excited they were to finally become Bruins!
Thanks to a pre-med bbq during their freshman year at UCLA, Michael and Christine finally ran into each other again. Here they realized that they were in the same Chemistry class. Michael and Christine would often meet in the dining halls to eat lunch before walking to class together. As time went on, they became the bestest of friends until one day (two years after that bbq) they secretly both developed crushes for each other. Friends began to ask if they were a couple, and feelings began to grow. The two finally became boyfriend and girlfriend summer of 2012.
After graduation, Christine stayed back at UCLA to wrap up a few classes and continue her internship while Michael moved back to San Bernardino to begin studying for the MCAT. They still saw each other nearly every weekend during this time though. Christine eventually finished her classes/internship and Michael made a tough decision to not continue his medical journey to support his family. Christine moved in with Michael and his family and inspired him to consider a job in tech. Thanks to her awesome resume-building skills, she helped Michael find a job in the bay area! After packing what he could into his car, the two moved up to NorCal. Shortly after, Christine landed a job 3 minutes away from Michael's office -- meant to be much?! They decided to officially move in together and found an apartment in Redwood City. This move marked a pivotal time in their lives -- from getting their first place together, finding their way in their new careers, and adopting the sweetest of all pups, Ellie!
After 8 years of dating, Michael decided to finally pop the question. He asked our friends if he could hijack a pre-planned group trip to Paris for the proposal, and they were happy to oblige. Michael and Christine officially got engaged in front of the Eiffel Tower on Valentine's Day 2020. They're celebrating 10 years together this year (July, 30, 2022) and finally getting married!
