After trying the old fashioned ways of meeting "the one," Phil and Jordan finally found each other on Hinge. For the record, Jordan "liked" Phil first and therefore made the first move, but the story would have ended there had Phil not reached out and asked what Jordan would be doing tomorrow if she were to call in sick. (She was catching a red eye home from LA, so her answer was sleeping, of course!) A few days later they met up for drinks, and Jordan probably talked way too much. But despite that, Phil wasn't scared off, and they spent the next year and a half growing together and loving each other.
Jordan is not a morning person & is even less of a morning person when she has a headache from sobbing through a tearjerker the night before (also VERY Jordan). Jordan is a sleuth & thinks she might be getting engaged soon, but not today. Phil is a morning person. Phil is calm, cool, & collected when Jordan drags herself out of bed to get ready to go & refuses to shower, because she's "just going to throw a hat & sweats on” because they are coming right back home with their lattes & croissants from Provider. Phil has a surprise planned that Jordan has no idea is happening TODAY. Jordan wants to get back into bed after this coffee run, because this headache just won't quit. Phil is trying to redirect Jordan to Holcomb Gardens so they can enjoy their provisions & the scenery before heading home. Jordan loves Phil more than she hates this headache, so they head toward campus. Jordan hates being cold, so when they arrive, Jordan refuses to get out of the car & insists that enjoying their food in the car will be just fine. Jordan loves podcasts, especially political ones in the weeks leading up to the election. Phil enjoys this podcast too, but is trying to set the mood for his surprise & this just won't do. Jordan shoots down his suggestion to switch to "their" playlist. Phil says, "...ok." After they finish eating, Phil mutes the podcast, & Jordan shoots him a death glare. Phil asks Jordan if she remembers tearfully asking if they could just get married now after the movie last night. Jordan starts to realize what is happening & panics. "Really?!" Phil nods his head & explains to Jordan that he loves her all while Jordan is screaming (& crying), "No, no, no. Hold on. Wait. Let's get out of the car! I haven't showered. You're still wearing your seatbelt!" Phil says, "This is perfect just like this. Will you marry me?" Jordan thinks she remembers saying yes at this point (or at least nodding), but it's all a blur of happiness, shock, but most of all...love.
