Black Tie Optional: Tuxes and long dresses are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. We're excited to dress up and dance the night away!
Please arrive by 1:50pm. Our vow renewal will start promptly at 2:00pm.
Be sure to check out our "Travel, Hotels, & Transportation" section for full details on our shuttle!
The vow renewal (assuming no rain!) will take place outside. Villa Terrace overlooks Lake Michigan and so it may be a bit chilly – bring a light jacket if needed! The Atrium has a beautiful rooftop garden with firepits. Otherwise, no grass or other difficult obstacles should be in your way to having a great time!
We will be offering hosted popcorn, beer, wine, and soda at The Oriental. We will be offering hosted beer, wine, soda and a special signature cocktail at the Atrium.
We’re so excited to celebrate this day with our nearest and dearest, and are hoping to keep the guest list limited. So, we are keeping our guest list trimmed to those indicated on the invitation's envelope. Thank you for understanding!
This is an adults-only wedding. Thanks for understanding!
No. We are not planning a virtual component to the event. We hope you will be able to join us in person.
Yes! We are having an unplugged ceremony. An unplugged ceremony means we are asking our family and friends to turn off their phones and other electronic devices and refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. As we renew our vows, please be our guest. Our photographer will take care of the rest! Come the reception, feel free to take as many photos as you wish!
Alex and I wanted to make sure our guests were entertained during our bridal party photos. So, we came up with a unique and special way to share one of our favorite date activities with all of you! We love going to retro movies together and we thought our guests would enjoy a special movie presentation at one of Milwaukee's historic theaters - the Oriental! So, take the shuttle from the ceremony at Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum to the Oriental and sit back and relax and enjoy the show! After the movie, the shuttle will take you to the reception at the Atrium where we'll be there to welcome you and really get the party started!
Yes - think of it as a special cinematic cocktail hour! Oooooo! Enjoy some popcorn and refreshments in the historic theater while we finish up photos. Then, join us at the reception for dinner and dancing! We are keeping the movie a secret for now! But, we promise it will be lighthearted, funny, and get you ready to dance!
Yes! Feel free to use #thelaurexwedding on all your social media posts and to find photos others have posted! We also are using The Guest app which is a photo sharing app for use at events, like weddings! Download the app and then enter the code THELAUREXWEDDING2022 to add our wedding to your account. During the wedding, you’ll start seeing all of the photos others share, then you can download any you want to keep! Don’t want to auto-share all your photos? You can toggle that feature on or off. It’s a great way to see all photos taken at the wedding! Here's a direct link to download: http://in.veri.com/to/thelaurexwedding2022
Sort of ! Laura kept her last name - Lamansky - but changed her legal MIDDLE name from her given middle name to Huhn. So her name is: First Name: Laura Middle Name: Huhn Last Name: Lamansky So, Laura Lamansky is accurate, but Laura Huhn (as her first and last name) is not accurate. #thankyouforcomingtomytedtalk
