A match made in heaven was forged one sunny Saturday afternoon, September 12th, 2015, at Ross-Ade Stadium on Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. Dani was excited to be attending her first Purdue sporting event! She was a freshman new to campus and had just joined Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Her sorority sisters invited her to a tailgate around campus, but she had one problem—she didn’t have tickets. In those days, Purdue football struggled to win games and consequently fill seats. Luckily, the lack of enthusiasm for the football team made it easy for Dani to snag tickets. Little did Dani know, the person from whom she received the tickets would end up as her future Matron of Honor! Jared, a lifelong Purdue fan, always had tickets and never missed a game – even during the infamous Darrell Hazel era against a team like Indiana State. His parents were master tailgaters in the prime location, the R Lot, just feet from the gate. Jared was joined by a group of his fraternity brothers, and they headed to the stadium to find their seats. Meanwhile, Dani and her friends also made their way to their seats toward the top of the student section, which was open seating. After the first quarter, seats closer to the field became available, and Dani and her group of newly met sorority sisters quickly moved to claim them. Shortly after securing better seats, they found themselves next to a group of Triangle fraternity brothers. It took no time for Jared to invite Dani and her friends to his parents' tailgate during half time. Yes, Dani met her future father- and mother-in-law on the same day she met Jared. 😊 Over the next seven years, numerous unforgettable memories were created, starting with romantic dates, fraternity/sorority formals, and summers filled with concerts. After college graduation, they experienced life in three different apartments, traveled to 15 states and numerous countries, all while sharing these adventures with their wonderful family and friends. Through these combined adventures, they became each other’s go-to person and developed an everlasting love, navigating life hand in hand.
