It all started with a swipe… and a little help from Bumble. Chris swiped right on Jacquelyn right away because he thought she was cute. Jacquelyn, on the other hand, took a little more time analyzing his profile. She liked that so many of his photos showed him outdoors. He golfed, snowboarded, and even took RV trips with friends. She also noticed they could definitely bond over being Cubs fans. What Chris didn’t notice in his quick swipe, however, was Jacquelyn’s fair warning that she’s a Packers fan. So don’t ever let him complain…he had a fair warning! After chatting for a while over the app, Jacquelyn and Chris quickly found they had a lot in common. They never struggled to keep the conversation going and were talking almost every day. Jacquelyn eventually gave Chris her number (since he never actually asked for it). Very shortly after, he asked her on a date, and she eagerly said “Yes!”Only to find out his busy schedule between work and school meant they wouldn’t meet for another two weeks. Their first date almost didn’t happen. They planned to meet at Hampton Social for drinks and apps, but on the day of, Jacquelyn felt a cold coming on and canceled. Even though Chris was skeptical, he continued to communicate with her. After still keeping in touch, Chris extended the offer to reschedule. After talking for over a month, they finally met up in person for their first date, sticking with the original plan to meet at Hampton Social. Jacquelyn’s first thought? Chris was tall, handsome, and clearly a gentleman, he stood up to greet her the moment she walked in. The conversation felt so natural, and the date went by quickly. After just one drink and an appetizer, Chris got the check. Jacquelyn was slightly nervous, since this date was much quicker than her previous experiences on the app. But Chris proved again to be a true gentleman when he walked her to her car, didn’t force a kiss, and simply asked for a hug goodbye. Before leaving, Chris locked in the second date, taking her to Topgolf. Chris’ first thought? Chris anxiously arrived early to make sure Jacquelyn didn’t beat him to Hampton Social. When she walked in, he couldn’t help but smile, greeting her with a warm hug. Conversation flowed effortlessly, and Chris quickly felt comfortable talking to her about anything. The evening moved quickly as they jumped from topic to topic, laughing and joking the whole time. At one point, Chris, knowing Jacquelyn was a runner, made it clear there is a very slim chance he’d ever join her on a run. We’ll see if that lasts. The night ended with another hug and Chris nervously asking for a second date, one he was thrilled to get. That night at Hampton Social was just the first of many dates that summer. Chris and Jacquelyn quickly became inseparable, spending nearly every free moment together. At the end of that summer, on July 27th, Chris asked Jacquelyn to officially be his girlfriend, and she happily said yes even though in her mind they were already exclusively dating. Ten months later, he asked her to move in with him, and she agreed. That same summer, they welcomed Oakley, their lovable golden doodle, into their lives kicking off the start of their little family. On their two-year anniversary, Chris planned the most meaningful surprise yet. Before he could even finish getting down on one knee, Jacquelyn gave her answer which was an enthusiastic “Yes!”, the easiest decision of her life.
