We hope to see you there!
After stumbling into each other on Bumble, we had our first date at Barnie’s coffee in Winter Park. Apparently; his friends almost tagged along to watch the show—online dating is it’s own reality show. Both of our hesitations were unfounded because we ended up chatting so long that he got sunburnt (and he’s the one that tans). Did I mention—he doesn’t drink coffee? It was a beautiful spring day and we ended up walking around Park Ave enjoying the sights just as he’d intended.
A few dates later, we went out for putt putt. I hustled him mercilessly. Although I came out victorious—he lost honorably (and definitely isn’t still grumpy about it). My prize for the victory was him reading some of his poetry to me in the parking lot and making the first move to give me a kiss. He melted my heart that night.
Our first out of state trip took place during the July 4th holiday. We decided to leave the heat and humidity of the Florida summer behind us and instead experience the exact same thing in South Carolina. We waited impatiently for an hour delayed fireworks display by the water and bravely drenched ourselves in sweat as we walked the nature paths no one else was willing to melt through at the plantations. It may have felt like we went from one oven to another, but we learned that even during all of our discomfort and the stress of travel we still got along amazingly well. There was so much culture and beauty to experience there that we got to enjoy together. It showed that we really could make even a time of discomfort feel great as long as we had each other.
We had planned to get Sara's oil changed that morning and then went out for breakfast. During breakfast I went into full freakout mode when she went to the bathroom and checked my email to find the ring was arriving any minute! I had to leave her on her own at the sketchy oil change shop and told her to hang out with some friends. She knew it must be a puppy (still in the works) or a ring. After making some last minute preparations, the engagement display was ready. She said yes. I had the happiest moment of my life up to that point, and now we're ready to celebrate what saying yes meant that day.
