Charleston Tea Garden

6617 Maybank Highway, Wadmalaw Island, SC 29487
, (843) 559-0383

The Charleston Tea Garden is the only tea garden in North America* where you can see hundreds of thousands of tea bushes stretching out acre after acre for almost as far as the eye can see. There is no admission charge. One of the great highlights of a visit to the tea garden is the Trolley Tour. There is a $14 per person charge for ages 12 and up. The trolley ride takes about 35-40 minutes and you'll get to see the many acres and acres of tea bushes. You'll learn more about tea both from our trolley guide as well as the founder, Bill Hall, who narrates a portion of the tour over the bus sound system. The trolley also makes a stop at the greenhouse where everyone departs the trolley and gets to see up close and personal just what it takes to bring new tea bushes into the world. No appointments are necessary.
