Our Story, Ryan's Version: We might have met once before when I crashed on her couch, and she tried to convince me to take her and her friend to Hawaii. That didn't work out. But a few years later, she found me on snap chat one day and she told me to come over to her house. She got tired of filing paperwork and asked me to go with her to Total Wine and More where we tasted bourbons, a lot of bourbons actually. We bought a few of the bourbons and took them to the gun range with us to go shooting. After that we went to dinner with some random friend of Teysha's and really I think she was trying to scare me off at that point. After dinner Teysha asked me if I wanted to go to the Pelican Lounge with her. We closed it down and then came home. We actually got to go to Hawaii together a few months later and it was then that I decided that it was time her friends stop calling me "November" because I wasn't going anywhere.
Our Story, Teysha's Version; I first met Ryan... when I was actually dating somebody else. We all went out together and I caught myself thinking all day how FUNNY Ryan was. We became social media friends that weekend but never actually hung out again until 3 years later. Wednesday before Thanksgiving, 2019, a chat popped up on my phone. It was Ryan saying he was in town for the weekend and asked if I wanted to hang out. I replied that I was at home doing some paperwork for work and he was welcome to come over if he wanted. I honestly thought he would say no because who volunteers to file papers at 8am? Ryan does. He came over and after I got done working I suggested we go check out the grand opening of Total Wine and More. It was a ton of fun! We did a bourbon tasting and spent a few hours there. Then one of his buddies invited him to go shooting, so we did that next. Now it's about 5pm and I am thinking, "does this guy have other plans today? Or is this it?" So I then told him I had plans to have dinner at a friends house and he was welcome to join. Again, thinking he would say no and go do his own thing.. nope, he came to dinner. After dinner I suggested we go get some drinks. We closed down the bar together and he still didn't go home. The next few weeks, he came down every weekend to see me. I kept waiting for him to stop coming to town (abandonment issues), but he never did. A few months later we made plans to go to Hawaii together and I still was not sure if we were "dating." But then again who takes somebody to Hawaii if it's not your girlfriend? Apparently, Ryan. I would come to realize that I was in a relationship with Ryan a few months before he was in a relationship with me. Ryan was telling his mother that he was in Hawaii "with a friend" while telling his aunt next door he was "house sitting for me," (yes, housesitting WHILE I was home, because that makes sense). I found out years later that that trip was when he committed, and I just never knew. It's another two months later when Ryan took off work to surprise me and spend my birthday weekend with me. It was that weekend that I became confident that Ryan wasn't leaving. The next few years we started a business together, traveled all over the country and built a life with each other. Somewhere along the way he stopped "house sitting" for me and invited me to meet his family, as his girlfriend. December of 2021 after two years together, Ryan proposed, with my grandmothers ring, on the top of the mountain in Park City, Utah. Our next adventure is November 12th, 2022 in Charleston, South Carolina.
