Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Sydney Tetens and Thomas McLaughlin
We're so excited you're coming to the city where we started our lives together! There is plenty to do if you are looking to make a mini-vacation out of your trip. Here are some recommendations of stuff to do:
The Alamo

The Alamo

300 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205

Do you remember? Deep in the heart of Texas is The Alamo. You can get in for free, but you most likely need to pay for parking. There is an attached museum that you can visit if you want to. Pro tip- there is no basement.

San Antonio River Walk

San Antonio River Walk

San Antonio, TX 78205

Classic downtown San Antonio tourist location. Enjoy strong and large margaritas on the patio, or go for a walk up and down the river. There is lots to do and lots to eat, and it is walking distance from the Alamo. There are also lots of hotels down here if you are looking to stay downtown.

The Shops at La Cantera

The Shops at La Cantera

15900 La Cantera Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78256

Plenty of shopping and good eats in this area. Very pretty too if you just want to walk around! Parking is free.

The Historic Pearl

The Historic Pearl

303 Pearl Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78215

This is a cute area to walk around and go window-shopping (or actually shop). There are lots of boutiques and fun food to eat. On weekends there is a farmer's market. Parking is usually paid unless you get lucky.

San Antonio Zoo

San Antonio Zoo

3903 North Saint Mary's Street, San Antonio, TX 78212

It's a zoo. It's no Brookfield Zoo but is it fun! There is a new gorilla exhibit.

Eisenhower Park

Eisenhower Park

19399 Northwest Military Highway, San Antonio, TX 78257

When it is not 400 degrees outside, we like to go hiking here! It is very scenic and peaceful. Bonus points if you make it to the top of the hill. Don't get lost.

Alamo Quarry Market

Alamo Quarry Market

255 East Basse Road, San Antonio, TX 78209

This is a good spot if you are wanting to do some light shopping, eat some good food, or go to the movies. Also, HEB is here- try the tortillas.

Buc-ee's

Buc-ee's

2760 Interstate 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130

This is a bit of a drive, but worth every minute. It is a chaotic but authentic Texas experience. The brisket sandwiches will change your life. You can get anything here, from snacks to camping equipment to a full outfit that you can show off to your friends. You can also fill up on gas.

For all the days along the way
