Guests requesting electronic invitations have accepted the Zero-Waste challenge. They have intentionally reduced their carbon footprint, as this greatly reduces the amount of paper needing to be recycled (or in some cases trashed). Food at the reception will not be plated, allowing guests to grab a little, enjoy it, and return for seconds should they desire a little more. This will reduce the amount of food that will need to be discarded. Keepsakes can be consumed and the wrappers reused for another purpose, or as packaging for carrying small items.
The concept and ultimate goal of a zero-waste wedding is to produce no waste whatsoever. The perfect zero-waste wedding would leave no negative impact on the environment at all. Items used for the ceremony and reception were selected for reuse, the ability to be composted, or their recyclability. Utensils and dinnerware are biodegradable. Straws for drinks and the drinkware are also biodegradable. Additionally, digital means of communication, programs, and check-in required less printing and produced less waste, overall.
At the Ceremony, be sure to take whatever you bring with you. This would include candy or gum wrappers, pens, used facial tissues, etc. If attending the meet & greet, only grab one bag of snacks for your family. Please do not take snacks for those not present. If attending the reception, grab just a little of the food selection, and if you desire more after eating it all, get a little more to ensure that none is wasted (and has to be thrown away).
Each table will be challenged with the least amount of food waste. Will your table be the closest to zero? Let's celebrate the day and be environmentally conscious.
Space is limited, please understand that we might not be able to accommodate your request. Be patient and if space is found, a hostess or the Wedding Planner will inform you up until May 24, 2025.
