FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is Formal / Black-Tie Optional. A tuxedo or suit is appropriate for men, and a floor-length gown, midi dress, or elevated cocktail dress works beautifully for women. We’ll be getting married in a historic church and celebrating at a country club so feel free to dress to impress while embracing spring colors and styles!

Question

What is the weather like in April?

Answer

April in Virginia is usually mild and sunny (fingers crossed!). Expect temperatures between the mid 60s and 70s.

Question

Is there parking at the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes! • St. Mary’s Basilica has nearby garages as well as three dedicated parking lots: https://stmaryoldtown.org/directions-parking-hours/ • Belle Haven Country Club offers free parking for all wedding guests.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate if you have a plus-one. If you have any questions, just reach out and we’re happy to clarify!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate children at the ceremony or reception unless they were specifically listed as guests.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 2:30 PM, and we recommend arriving by 2:15 PM to allow time to find your seat and settle in.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

We recommend using ride shares or coordinating with your hotel. A limo will transport the wedding party, but guests should plan their own travel between locations. The ceremony and reception sites are about 15 minutes apart by car.

Question

Are there hotel blocks available?

Answer

Yes! We’ve reserved hotel blocks nearby; details and booking links are available on the “Travel” section of this site. Be sure to book early, as spring is a popular time in the area.

Question

Will there be a shared photo album?

Answer

Yes! We’ve created a shared photo album where guests can upload and view photos from the weekend. Feel free to add your favorite moments. We’d love to see the day through your eyes. 👉 Upload & view photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/J4aeC4xk6tmXUKLs5

Question

Ceremony Note

Answer

Our ceremony will include a Catholic Mass. During Communion, only Catholics who are spiritually prepared should receive the Eucharist. If you are not receiving, you’re still warmly welcome to attend and either come forward for a blessing or remain seated. Your presence means the world to us.
