The Wedding Website of Teressa Juzwiak and Wim van Herk
We're getting married in The Hague, The Netherlands. It is the country's administrative centre and its seat of government. A very charming city with an old town and the beach of Scheveningen only a stone's throw away.

Flight

Arriving by Plane

The Hague is a very well connected city and can be reached by train, bus or plane. For flying, we recommend Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam or Rotterdam-The Hague Airport, as they're closest. From Schiphol Airport, a train can be taken directly to The Hague city centre (Den Haag Centraal). From Rotterdam-The Hague Airport, you can take a bus to the metro, and from there, Metro Line E to Den Haag Centraal.

Train

Arriving by Train

The Hague is served by two train stations. - Den Haag Centraal is located in the city center. - Den Haag Hollands Spoor (HS) is located about 1km away from the center and connected via trams and buses.

Train

Public Transport in The Hague

Public transport in The Hague is easily accessible. You can check tram and bus schedules on the HTM website. Payment can be made on board using a pre-paid transport card (OV-Chipkaart), or using a debit/credit card or your phone. No cash accepted. Just don't forget to check in, and check out!

Travel Note

Taking a Taxi

A taxi from Schiphol to The Hague can be pre-booked online and will usually cost between 70 and 90 eur depending on the number of travellers and amount of luggage. The trip takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour depending on the time of day. Uber is not widely available in The Hague. Taking a taxi is possible on the street at specific stops, or via phone: +31 (0) 070 390 7722 Most taxis will accept card payment, but its always good to check before-hand.

Travel Note

Renting a Bike

Riding a bike is the quintessential Dutch experience! You can rent one to explore The Hague, where bike paths will take you to all the main destinations. Just make sure to park your bike properly (yes, they will tow it) and secure with a lock.

Where to Stay

There are a few places you can choose to stay in The Hague. - The city center is an obvious one, very easy to access everything on foot, and well connected with public transportation. Here you will find the most options for all budgets. - Scheveningen: If you'd like to stay close to the beach, there are a few options in the area, including the luxurious Kurhaus and the Carlton Beach. - Close to the Peace Palace: The Peace Palace houses the International Court of Justice. The area around it is very green and quiet. - Other cities: The Netherlands is so small that you can also stay in other cities. For example Delft (30 min), Rotterdam (40 min - 1h), Amsterdam (1h - 1h30).
