We met during our senior year, spring semester at the University of Pittsburgh through our beloved mutual friend Elaine Lipinski! We often joke that Lainey is the most fun thing about us... and we are incredibly thankful our fun-loving, adventuresome friend brought us together. Teresa distinctly remembers asking Andrew to hang out one night (spring semester, senior year) to which he explained he could not as he had homework to do (Andrew: I really did have homework!). Perhaps it was in this moment that Teresa realized she met her match. Our relationship started at the conclusion of our undergraduate career as we followed slightly different paths - Andrew to graduate school at Carnegie Mellon University and Teresa to the workplace. As we transitioned into the next phase of our lives, we navigated the demands of school, career, and the pandemic. As we got to know one another, we learned we grew up a school district away and attended the same parish growing up. Our Catholic faith is the most important part of our relationship and is the solid foundation from which our relationship is being built. God has been with us throughout every step of our relationship, blessing us with the opportunity to learn better how to love and serve one another. We are thankful for the friends and family who have been with us and guided us. We give thanks to God for the way He has blessed us with the gift of one another. We are eager to start our lives together and know that the best is yet to come!
For those who of you who have not met Teresa yet, you will come to know an incredibly special person. Some of the most immediate traits you will notice are Teresa's enormous thoughtfulness and caring nature. She will quickly make you welcome and as she gets to know you, she has a unique way of remembering even some of the smallest details of your life. Teresa makes you feel special in a way that will leave you wondering how she does it! In addition, Teresa is amazingly intelligent, driven, beautiful and funny. I am incredibly blessed to be marrying such an strong, faith-filled and caring woman. I am often in awe of her dedication, both to her personal endeavorers, as well as those in her life she cares for (which is basically everyone she knows)!
Anyone who has the privilege of knowing Andrew knows he is among the most intelligent, patient, and loving people one could hope to meet. He has a fun sense of humor and possesses an impressive amount of knowledge on so many different topics. He lives his Catholic faith out daily and is disciplined in his work and habits. He pursues excellence in all that he does and he inspires me to become my best self. He is easy going (and not to mention easy on the eyes) and he would do anything for his family and friends. Andrew is the greatest gift to me and it will be the blessing of a lifetime to call this man my husband!
A fun fact about our wedding date - Andrew's parents were married on September 21, 1985 and Teresa's parents were married on September 22, 1990. We did not enter wedding planning aiming for September 23, 2023 (we quickly learned how wedding planning goes, haha) but we know God's hand was present and we appreciate the connection to our parent's anniversaries and the strong example of enduring love our parents exhibit.
