Renata and Ted found each other while simultaneously swiping through the treacherous digital dating labyrinth of Chicago Bumble in late January of 2019. They quickly established a cadence through shared gifs from The Office and revelations of their current (Renata) and former (Ted) love-hate relationship with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the obvious chemistry, Ted was set to head out on an international work trip for five weeks. He asked Renata if they could resume their conversation upon his return, assuming they both wouldn't meet the loves of their respective lives in that period. She agreed. While abroad, Ted may have allegedly googled Renata once or twice and Renata may have allegedly kept up with his location on Bumble to make sure he wasn't full of crap. When he got back to Chicago, Ted legitimately couldn't wait to strike things back up. He shot her a message, and Renata was quick to suggest the two grab donuts a few days later. As it turns out, Renata had an entire Chicago donut tour planned (see map below). The pair toured some of the city's finest offerings, followed by drinks at Parlor Pizza, without even realizing that seven hours had passed. Ted called his brother Nate afterward, knowing immediately there was something very special about Renata and their connection. Now, in what will be nearly three years after that successful January swipe session, Renata and Ted couldn't be more excited to have their family and friends help them celebrate their next steps together this December!
