Our story started on a mountainside — as all the best ones do. We met in 2021 on the Pacific Crest Trail, somewhere around mile 200 on Mount San Jacinto. Emily (Sunspot) crossed paths with Jake (La-Z-Boy) and his trail family. He told her he liked her tent, and that small, simple moment turned into the start of something special. Over hundreds of miles, long breaks at water sources, stops in eclectic trail towns, and plenty of trail magic, we kept finding our way back to each other. After finishing the trail, Jake went home to Austin and Emily to Denver, and we spent a year long-distance before reuniting to hike the Colorado Trail. Somewhere between mountain passes and wildflower fields, Jake decided Colorado was home. Since then, we’ve built a life full of the things we love — gardening, summer camping trips, winter ski days, and adventures with our pup, Hazelnut. In 2025, we bought our first home, and during a road trip through Utah’s national parks, Jake proposed while we were hiking in Zion. Now we’re so excited to bring all our favorite people together to celebrate our biggest adventure yet — getting married!
