Our story starts when we both agreed to volunteer one summer in nursing school. As Chris tells it: "I walked into the room and BAM! The most gorgeous girl I'd ever seen was in there. She was older than me, ahead of me in nursing school, and she had a friend there. I figured I had no chance in the world - so I just decided to be a goof and have fun. Did I mention how attractive she was? Halfway through the event she asked me how old I was, that's when I knew she was into me." Sarah remembers that first encounter: “I recognized Chris from nursing school and continued setting up.” It probably took him three tries of asking her out before she said yes. After all, what's one date? Chris raved about how he had a gift card to P.F. Changs. He poured a beer and it foamed out of the glass. Sarah thought it was cute so he scored a second date to the county fair. He tried to impress her with a spinning roller coaster ride and he almost threw up. Then we learned our first kiss was witnessed by a pack of middle school girls giggling behind us at the top of the Ferris wheel. A few weeks later, Chris asked Sarah to be his girlfriend over lunch in the gardens at school. Chris likes to say that Sarah couldn't have said yes fast enough. Sarah graduated from Washington State and shared that she’d be moving for her dream job. Thankfully, she chose Seattle but we both had to figure out if we were in or out - long distance isn't easy. After some crucial conversations, we decided to both jump in head first and make it work. Chris knew marriage was in the cards long before Sarah did. His dad shared with him that "when you know, you know, and at some point you just don't want to wait any longer." The next chapter in our story begins with marriage & it is one that we are so blessed to have you be a part of. From the bottom of our hearts, we love you all and are so grateful you get to share this day with us.
