Charleston and I met on August 4, 2018, exactly one year after I took part in a Pray for Your Future Spouse challenge on August 4, 2017. During that week, I fasted and prayed, and God gave me a dream with part of Charleston’s name—“Charles.” Little did I know, a year later, I would be introduced to the man I had prayed for through my co-worker’s wife, who is Charleston’s cousin. Throughout our relationship, God has confirmed in many ways that we are meant to be together. One powerful moment was when I told Charleston to pray and ask God if I was truly his wife. I encouraged him to pray out of the box—to ask for a sign so clear that he would know it was from God. The very next day, I was at work looking to buy him cufflinks for his birthday and wanted to personalize them with his initials. So, I texted him and asked for his middle name. His response was immediate: OMG. I asked what was wrong, and he told me, "I'll have to tell you later." That evening, when we spoke, he reminded me that he had prayed the night before, asking God to confirm if I was his wife. His request? "God, if she’s the one, let her ask me my middle name." Not even 24 hours later, I unknowingly did just that! We have been together for six years, and when we get married, it will mark seven years of love, faith, prayer, and commitment, a number that represents God’s completion and perfect timing. Throughout our relationship, we have been long-distance, traveling back and forth, but despite the miles, our bond has remained strong. Charleston proposed on August 10, 2024, and exactly one year later, on August 10, 2025, we will say I do. Over the years, we’ve had our ups and downs, our highs and lows, but through it all, we've kept God at the center of our relationship. We pray together every night because seeking God in our journey is important to us. His guidance has brought us this far, and as we prepare for marriage, we know He will continue to lead us in The Johnsons' Journey!
