We met at the University of Oregon in 2011 over greasy Mexican food from our dorm's burrito bar. Bonding over our palette for 'fine cuisine' and wanderlust, we became fast friends. After college we went our separate ways, to separate states, staying in touch and making time to get together over holidays and work trips. One day Tegan brought up the idea of a trip to Peru and Tommy leapt at the opportunity. Tegan had initially envisioned a fun trip with a platonic friend, while Tommy saw it as an opportunity to breakthrough the 'friend-zone.' Nothing strengthens a new relationship like sweating through a high-altitude backpacking trip in the Andes or thwarting off a constant clutter of spiders while trying to sleep on an island made of reeds. It was an exciting way to kickstart a relationship, to say the least. Flash forward to the present - we've lived together in Seattle for four amazing years and can't wait for what the future holds.
