Things To Do

See the below for our restaurant and other recommendations for things to do in Charlottesville!

Al Carbon Chicken

This is Ted's favorite place for some awesome Peruvian Chicken! Hole in the wall but good :)

The Alley Light

108 2nd Street Southwest, Charlottesville, VA 22902
, (434) 296-5003

This is a swanky hidden speakeasy that has great drinks and French food. One of Ted's favorites, again.

Green House Coffee

1260 Crozet Avenue, Crozet, VA 22932
, (434) 823-1077

One of Ted and Melissa’s other favorite breakfast places. Highly recommend the home fries.

Oakhurst Inn Cafe and Espresso Bar

1616 Jefferson Park Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903
, (434) 872-0100 ext. 2

Ted and Melissa had many many breakfasts and dates here. We highly recommend the bacon gruyere scone with scallion butter (it is amazing) and the coffee is great!

The Market at Bellair

2401 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901
, (434) 971-6608

Ted’s favorite sandwich place in Charlottesville (Ted and Family have been going here for almost a decade). Great place to grab lunch after a long drive.

Mona Lisa Pasta Inc

921 Preston Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903
, (434) 295-2494

Ted worked here briefly as a stock clerk and assistant cook. Amazing handmade pasta and pasta sauces. Highly recommend purchasing some to take back.

Bodo's Bagels

505 Preston Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903
, (434) 293-5224

This is the infamous bagel place everyone who went to UVA or lives in Charlottesville talks about. Their bagels are the best!

Lampo Neapolitan Pizzeria

205 Monticello Road, Charlottesville, VA 22902
, (434) 244-3226

Amazing pizza with ingredients imported from Italy.

Peter Chang China Grill

2162 Barracks Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903
, (434) 244-9818

This is a very good Chinese restaurant in the Szechuan style, if you are craving some authentic Chinese food. The famous Peter Chang used to work at the Chinese Embassy as a chef and has many restaurants since opening this one in Virginia and Maryland. Both Melissa and Ted (and their families) make a point of frequently eating here.

DOMA Korean Kitchen

701 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903
, (434) 202-1956

This is a great place for Korean food, the restaurant is owned by the parents of one of Melissa's friends from UVA! Ted and Melissa also had many moments of eating here or getting takeout from here.

Charlottesville Farmer's Market (City Market)

100 Water Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

This is a great place to spend time on Saturday morning before the wedding. It's right off the Charlottesville Downtown Mall and has great food vendors and is a fun place to walk around.

Ragged Mountain Nature Area

1730 Reservoir Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903

This is where Ted proposed to Melissa! It is a beautiful scenic area and is very close to UVA.

The Lawn

Charlottesville, VA 22903
, (434) 924-0311

Classic UVA site seeing. This is the “quad” area where students will go outside and play frisbee. Also an excellent place to pet dogs.

Carter Mountain Orchard

1435 Carters Mountain Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22902

This is an apple orchard which is super fun for fall, has awesome apple cider donuts and would be a fun place to take kids.

931 Thomas Jefferson Pkwy, Charlottesville, VA 22902
, (434) 984-9800

Thomas Jefferson’s estate, which has been converted into a historic landmark.

IX Art Park

522 2nd Street Southeast, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Charlottesville staple open air mall, plenty of good restaurants and artistic boutiques.

King Family Vineyards
