After chatting for a few days on bumble Katrina hinted that she wanted to meet in person and Ted agreed to come meet her at the Davis Farmers market. Little did they know, it would go so well that it turned into a five hour date. Being a gentleman, Ted walked Katrina to her car at the end of the date, and although he didn’t get a kiss he did make sure to make plans to see her again the next Tuesday.
After a few weeks of courting it was very clear that neither Ted or Katrina had eyes for anyone else. So on a romantic Friday night Ted made reservations at Dawson’s in downtown Sacramento. After their lovely meal Ted asked Katrina to be his girlfriend, and promptly texted one of his groomsmen (Jonah) to brag ;)
After dating for a few months, Katrina and Ted took their first trip together. Ted had a work recruiting trip to his alma mater Cal Poly SLO and brought Katrina along to see the central coast for the first time. After the work was out of the way, they were able to kick back and relax. Ted took Katrina out to dinner at Guiseppe’s. Katrina, always the artist, asked for the kids crayons and coloring paper while they waited for their food. She articulately drew an 👁, and then drew a ♥️ next, and then a U after and confessed her love for Ted. After they finished their lovely dinner, they took a walk through downtown SLO, walked by the mission, and sat down at a bench under a bridge by the SLO creek. Ted proclaimed his love for Katrina in return and this became a special place for them.
Since Ted first proclaimed his love for Katrina at the bench by the SLO creek, he always knew that’s where he would return to ask her to marry him. In the summer of 2020, Ted suggested they visit SLO for the weekend for his 25th birthday. Unbeknownst to Katrina, this trip was not really planned for his birthday, but was a way for him to surprise her with a proposal in SLO. After a fun Saturday with Ted’s family and a few SLOcal friends, Ted let Katrina know they had a Sunday brunch planned at Novo. The night before, Ted suggested they should go on a romantic walk in the morning to brunch instead of driving with the rest of the family. That morning they walked downtown, went by the mission, over the creek bridge, and down next to the bench by the SLO creek. Ted shared with Katrina all the reasons he loved her and asked her to marry him. She said yes! After a quick photo shoot and bottle of champagne, they walked the rest of the way to Novo for brunch. Katrinas family was there with Ted’s awaiting the couples arrival for a surprise celebration!
