Maid of Honor
The bride’s sister; Bestie, confiante, Mysa’s dog auntie. Enough said. New Yorker turned Floridian.
Best Man
Ted and Harry met in Chapel Hill, North Carolina when they started the City and Regional Planning program at UNC together. Their friendship grew alongside blue cups from He’s Not, Ted’s discovery of NC barbeque, and Carolina victories over that other blue team from Durham. Both gluttons for punishment, Ted and Harry and decided that one post-grad degree from UNC just wasn’t enough and ran it back for more degrees (and more blue cups). Years later, it turns out that friendship was about more than just beer and basketball.
Bridesmaid
Friend of both the bride and groom. Aschley has known Ted since the Mayfield high school band in Las Cruces, NM; Joanna might have stolen this friendship.
Groomsman
Ted and Joel met a long time ago in a state far, far away (New Mexico). They grew up playing clarinet together, and even though they live in different Washingtons now they bore their respective partners discussing similarly nerdy passions whenever they get together. Ted still doesn’t understand how someone who grew up with all that great New Mexico sunshine can tolerate the Seattle drizzle.
Bridesmaid
Jessi and Joanna met during the pandemic and their friendship grew alongside the friendship of their dogs, Fisher and Mysa, during many “small dog Sundays” at the dog park.
Groomsman
Ted and Jordan met in the hallowed halls of the US Department of Transportation, bonding over the divinity of walkable neighborhoods and the perils of suburbia. When things started getting serious with Joanna, Jordan joked “Good thing her last name isn’t Suburban!” Good thing, indeed.
Bridesmaid
The bride’s cousin and close friend since their early days of performing shows in their grandparents’ basement together. Yoga teacher, dog mom, and world traveler.
Groomsman
Ted and Pinaki met in Chapel Hill and bonded over writing snarky emails and finding great happy hour specials while both social chairs for their grad school cohort (ok, there were like 4 social chairs for a cohort of 25 people so it was a pretty low-stakes gig). Conveniently, when Ted moved to DC he was able swap out for another Santra (see below), but now that Pinaki also lived in DC the siren song of cheap happy hours at Pinaki Bars has returned.
Bridesmaid
Joanna's friend since their early days in DC, they have gone to many ‘Phillips Collection After 5’ events and Embassy weekends together. Brittany loves traveling and exploring the food scene of wherever she is.
Groomsman
Ted and Raman technically met in Chapel Hill, but Ted is pretty sure he was introduced to Raman as “Not Pinaki” and may not have known his name until they met again when Ted moved to DC. Raman welcomed Ted to DC with open arms, and even invited him to tag along on a trip that was, in fact, Ted’s First Euro Trip™. In an ironic twist of fate, Not Pinaki is somewhat of a local DC celeb (@barredindc) while Pinaki is sometimes referred to as Barred’s Evil Twin.
Bridesmaid
Joanna’s friend since their early days in DC exploring restaurants, museums, and city events together. Win is a real estate maven, world traveler, and fashion and fitness enthusiast.
Groomsman
Ted and Joshu met in Chapel Hill and grew close over their shared interest in transit and college sports (even though Joshu never became a Carolina fan, rude!) Since moving to DC, Ted and Joshu have bonded over just DC things like metro fires and not having representation (jk, Joshu actually lives in Virginia).
Officiant
Groom’s friend
