Sarah has been spending exorbitant amounts of money here for over a decade. This is why we own juice glasses that have to be hand-washed. Great spot to pick up fun little gifts or just wander around and touch everything. Sometimes they have samples in the back - go up the steps, towards where it looks like you aren't supposed to go. That's where the sample table is. Let's be honest, this is a place to go blow money on tiny bowls and kitchen towels with funny sayings. THE BEST KIND OF PLACE. PSA: Sarah gladly will accept any and every kind of cookbook and all things saucy, whether it be an apron or a marinade. Dan will accept anything that is dishwasher safe.
Kevin's is pretty neat. Their gun inventory is impressive, to say the least. Men feel more masculine in here. Women feel like they need a set of fine china with game birds on it to be complete. It does weird things to you - I recommend stopping in for a visit.
Ya'll, this tree is 329 years old and is one of the largest of its kind East of the Mississippi River. It's only a block from downtown, you need to go see this massive tree out of respect for your elders. It's free and you don't even have to get out of the car if you don't want to.
Family owned and operated vineyard and winery. Wines and ciders are cultivated locally and you can try 6 of them for $10. See you there! Salud!
This is a cute bookstore. They sell candy. It's always sunny inside, even when it's rainy outside. I'm not going to write anymore because you should go to The Bookshelf and read something there instead of reading this website.
Sarah's absolute favorite restaurant of all time!! Total disclosure - they do not serve alcohol. But they do serve up the best hushpuppies coming out of a deep fryer since my great-grandfather. Honestly, there is nothing even remotely subpar on their menu. You cannot go wrong at Jonah's. It's SO GOOD, that I'm not even going to make suggestions. Don't misunderstand, I have strong feelings about what should be ordered...but Jonah's is more important than my opinions. Just to break it down in case I haven't been clear: (1) They don't serve alcohol and it's my favorite restaurant. (2) I'm foregoing an opportunity to tell someone what to do by not guiding you on your orders. I'm not proud of it, but telling people what to do is one of my favorite past times. The food from Jonah's fish & grits makes me a better person. AND there is a huge, free parking lot right behind the restaurant. It really does not get any better. Dan wrote this.
It's cheese! It's wine! It's cheese and wine! Wait! What's that you say?! There's more than just cheese and wine?! There's beer and fried chicken, too?! And fresh salads and gluten-free options?! Sounds too good to be true. Not sure I'm buying it...guess I will have to go check it out for myself. Ya know, just to be thorough... And yes, It's where we are eating dinner after the ceremony! But it won't hurt our feelings if you check it out beforehand, it's worth more than one visit...or so I've heard.
Wi-fi and caffeine, what more do you need?
