Enjoy MPLS

The Wedding Website of Rachel Louise Hemsey and Kyle Raymond Nelson
We fell in love in the North Loop neighborhood of downtown Minneapolis and both have special connections to the University of Minnesota. See below for some of our favorite Minnesotan "can't miss" spots in these two neighborhoods and beyond!

Surly Brewing Co.

520 Malcolm Avenue Southeast, Minneapolis, MN 55414

Where we went on the night we first met, one of our favorite breweries in the Twin Cities, and a great indoor/outdoor location for the Fall! Make sure to try the Coffee Bender.

Brit's Pub

1110 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403

Rachel had to be dragged away from Brit's Pub on Derby Day so that Jon + Amy could hang out with Kyle in Uptown. She's happy she went! Enjoy the rooftop and pub for lawn bowling and an Ale.

Minneapolis Stone Arch Bridge

100 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

One of the most picturesque locations in the Twin Cities. We enjoyed many walks across the bridge connecting Kyle's University apartment and Rachel's North Loop apartment.

Parlour

730 North Washington Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

Where we went on our first official date: May 20, 2017 - the night before Rachel's birthday. The Parlour burger is to die for.

University of Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN 55455

Take a walk around campus and see Northrup Mall, academic buildings, the athletic facilities where Kyle works, and all of Rachel's favorite spots from her college days.

Black Sheep Coal Fired Pizza

600 North Washington Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

Great pizza spot by the hotels and reception venue. Open late night as well!

Bread & Pickle + Lake Harriet

4135 West Lake Harriet Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55410

Eatery right next to Lake Harriet. Grab an Arnold Palmer and enjoy a stroll around the lake. This spot is just seven blocks north of Rachel and Kyle's home.

Minnehaha Regional Park

4801 South Minnehaha Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417

See the gorgeous Minnehaha Falls and then stop for some casual dining at Sea Salt - our favorite seafood in the Twin Cities. Both are located in Minnehaha Park. A must visit combo!

Number 12 Cider

614 North 5th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55401

One of our favorite cider spots in Minneapolis. Within walking distance of Rachel's old apartment in the North Loop, the Twins Stadium, and the Timberwolves arena.

Annie's Parlour

313 14th Avenue Southeast, Minneapolis, MN 55414

Classic burger and malt spot on Minnesota's campus in Dinkytown. Pro Tip: order off the kid's menu and your burger will come with fries!

Lord Fletcher's Old Lake Lodge

3746 Sunset Drive, Spring Park, MN 55384

Worth the 25 minute drive! Restaurant on the shores of Lake Minnetonka and where Kyle has played in a sand volleyball league since moving to Minnesota in 2016.

Mall of America®

60 East Broadway, Bloomington, MN 55425

I mean... why not? If you've never been it's certainly a sight to behold.

Canterbury Park

1100 Canterbury Road, Shakopee, MN 55379

If you're up for some horse racing or a casino, this is our favorite spot to go! Even if you aren't a big spender, the $2 bets are just as fun.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

725 Vineland Place, Minneapolis, MN 55403

See the symbol that is always used to represent Minneapolis - the famous Spoonbridge and Cherry.
