Visit Beals Point or Brown's Ravine for some pretty views of the lake or go for a short hike/walk along one of the many trails! Note there is a $12 entry fee per car. Be sure to take a drive on Folsom Lake Crossing to pass by and see the Folsom Dam!
Grab some drinks, check out a comedy show, try some wine or just meander the streets of quaint downtown historic Folsom. Walkable from the Lake Natoma Inn! Saturday morning from 9- 1 there is also a famers market! Some of our favorites are Gaslight (bar), Samuel Horne's Tavern (food), Citizen Vine (wine & food) and Not Too Shabby (gifts and knick-knacks)!
Visit the beautiful park around the State Capitol building that has hundreds of trees native to California, including palm trees, redwoods and even a tree that went to the moon! Plus, the rose garden is where Michael proposed! Free tours are offered inside the Capitol as well.
Visit the Folsom State Prison made famous by Johnny Cash! There's a prison museum, as well as many biking or walking trails around the prison.
About a 1.5 hour drive from Folsom and 2 hours from Sacramento, Lake Tahoe is known for breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding Sierra's. Plenty of hiking, camping, and lake activities. Before you travel, please check road and weather conditions as late-season snow is possible for them. Tahoe is 6,000 feet in elevation, but the passes to get to the lake go up to 7,000 feet in elevation. The views on the drive up there are gorgeous!
