We officially first met back in high school in 2008 on a double date (not with each other), but Charles' first impression of Erika had already been tainted before then by the fact that she was the overachieving concert mistress of his regional orchestra in Virginia. After heading to different colleges many miles apart, many years passed where we wished the occasional happy birthday's on Facebook, until we met again as classmates in business school in 2016. We quickly became close friends, and upon seeing something in each other through the highs and the lows, we took a chance on us and are glad we did. We lived in California for a summer; traveled to Israel, Brazil, Spain and Hawaii; partied together in New York, Vegas and Miami; graduated from Philly; started new jobs in Boston. A few months into the new life, in the presence of friends who had seen us as a couple from the very start, Charles proposed to Erika in Acadia National Park. Sometimes we marvel that it took us so many miles around the world across so many years when we were only a 15 minute-drive apart growing up all along.
