Our friends Kelly and Dillon had just started dating, and Kelly and I were performing together in Elf the Musical at Hale Centre Theatre. Dillon came to see the show — and brought his friend Hayden along for moral support. As I danced across the stage in my pink elf costume, Hayden pointed to me and told Dillon he thought I was cute. Dillon texted Kelly during intermission… and the rest is history! Fast forward to today: Kelly and Dillon are now married, Dillon will stand beside Hayden as a groomsman, and Kelly will be officiating our wedding!

I was attending a conference in Boston and decided to fly home a day early for a callback the next morning. Hayden picked me up from the airport and drove me home, acting completely normal the entire way. When we reached our apartment door, I finally stopped talking about tote bags long enough for Hayden to open it — and there it was: an aisle of candles and rose petals leading to a glowing heart made of candles in our living room. I thought it was just a romantic “welcome home” surprise, but Hayden took my hand, led me to the the heart. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Easiest yes of my life!
