A San Francisco tradition since 1896, Anchor Brewing is America's first craft brewery. Teagan worked at the brewery for 7+ years, and chances are she's given you a cold Anchor Steam and talked at length about craft beer. For the full experience, book tickets for a brewery tour & tasting. Otherwise, check out Anchor Public Taps, located just across the street from the brewery, for beer pints, flights, and food pop-ups (outdoor seating available).
Teagan grew up going to Japantown with her family for big bowls of noodle soup. Years later, cafes in Japantown were a go-to spot for budding writer Adrian to work, before he met Teagan. The last house Teagan lived in before she moved in with Adrian was in Japantown, and her paternal grandmother, Barbara, still lives there! So, you could say we love Japantown. There's a large indoor/outdoor complex housing an assortment of sushi, ramen and shabu-shabu restaurants, plus specialty grocery stores, kitschy gift shops, karaoke bars and Asian-style day spas.
Built in the early 1930s, Coit Tower stands on top of Telegraph Hill, offering gorgeous panoramic views of the city and the bay. The interior features beautiful fresco murals. The tower's observation deck, reached by elevator (tickets can be purchased in the gift shop), has 360-degree views including the Golden Gate and Bay bridges, Alcatraz, downtown, and more.
The Mission District is an exuberant, evolving neighborhood with Latin roots and a trendy vibe. Old-school taquerias, all kinds of shops, and eateries and bars (many with outdoor seating). Dolores Park is like San Francisco's backyard hangout spot with city skyline views. Vibrant murals line streets such as Clarion Alley.
