Sarah Murphy
Cornerstone of Honor
This wedding wouldn't have happened without Sarah, full stop. Sure, she's our Day Of Coordinator, but she has also been an enthusiastic cheerleader of our relationship and God's hand in it. She is overflowingly creative and put that creativity & skill to use by altering Sydney's dress, and her passionate faith in Jesus lifts us up with her. We can't thank God enough for Sarah!
Carrie Teagarden
Maid of Honor
Carrie is Sydney's youngest sister, so she's been stuck with Sydney for her whole life. She's vibrant, creative, and hilarious. Our wedding would be a much more boring event without her and her enthusiasm for us and our day! We love her a whole lot.
Garrett Mather-Smith
Brother of Bother
Garrett has been Sydney's small group leader, work supervisor, and TTRPG Game Master, often at the same time, and he was Luke's internship mentor and then work supervisor as well. But, more importantly, he is also their dear friend and Sydney's found-family annoying older brother. We are so, so grateful for his presence in our lives and his loving bullying of us into actually getting this wedding planned.
Sophie Mather-Smith
Baker of Honor
Sophie was Sydney's internship mentor, but she has become so much more! Sophie is a quiet, consistent friend who delights in goats and gardening. She also loves to bake, so of course we jumped at her offer to make the cakes for our wedding! She's very creative and very cool and takes so much contagious delight in the world around her, so we're super happy to have her both in our lives and with us on this special day!
Ariyabelle Miller
Raccoon of Honor
Ariyabelle has opposable thumbs, and she primarily uses them for excellent mischief. She also gives incredible hugs, will fight you (and win!), and is an emphatically kind friend. We are delighted to be friends with her, and we know that our day will be great with her by our side.

Maid of Enthusiasm
Heather is like the sun: she is a comforting and consistent source of warmth and cheer in our lives. If you want someone to be excited with you, Heather's your gal. We met Heather through Good Works, and we're so grateful to be her friends, not just coworkers.
Hannah Hartman
Matron of Beauty
When Sydney first met Hannah, she immediately was intimidated by Hannah's graceful beauty and kindness, and she immediately formed and still holds the opinion that Hannah is the closest thing to a Wood Elf we shall ever get to meet. She is our whole friend group's go-to "what color is this / goes well with this?" person, which is due both to her natural eye for aesthetic beauty AND her Masters of Fine Arts. We are blessed to be her friend, and we are so grateful for her leading role in making our wedding so utterly beautiful!
Ana-Sophia Beardsley
Maid of Compassion
Ana is the best girls' girl and mom friend you could ever ask for. She channels the great Dolly Parton into her hospitality and sass, and if you mess with her friends, HOO boy, you better pray. If you're struggling, she'll sit with you, cry with you, and bring you snacks and crafts. When Ana first joined Good Works, she and Sydney both told Luke that they thought the other was so very cool that they didn't know how to talk to them, and when they both learned that, they got over their shyness and became great friends! Ana's friendship is a delight, as is her presence on this important day!
Jessica Long
Supermom of Honor
Jessica has been in Sydney's phone as "Supermom" for as long as she can remember, because Jessica was a superhero of a mom friend when they worked at Camp Gilead in Central Florida together for like 4 years. Jessica's family adopted Sydney and her sisters, and the amount of late-night giggling and Ninjago references in our memories are too high to count. Jessica is a excitedly passionate person who deserves the world, and she runs a business selling custom American Girl Doll clothing and accessories! Sydney is in awe of Jessica's resilience and fortitude, and she's so excited that she gets to spend time with her on her wedding day!!!
Emily Mann
Maid of Dancing
Sydney can't remember a time when she didn't know Emily. Their families grew up in the same homeschool group and eventually the same church as well! The Manns were a second family to Sydney and her sisters, and the countless sleepovers and post-church Panera lunches were formative memories! Emily is one of Sydney's longest-term favorite cuddle buddies and confidants, and she's on the moon that Emily can be with her on this amazing day! Emily also happily offered to call the English Country dances that we'll be doing, because she has experience as both the dancer and the caller, but Sydney will find a way to steal her for a dance :)
Sam Persons
Maid of Adventure
Sam Persons is one of Sydney's favorite people, especially to hang out with when she needs an escape from the world, whether that means going to a concert in Columbus or just to Taco Bell. Sam loves to invite people into what she's excited about, so she's gotten Sydney hooked on not one, but two whole video games (Baldur's Gate III and Disney Dreamlight Valley). Sydney cannot count how many nights they've spent talking about everything from politics to the cool new species of fish scientists just discovered while playing these games. Sydney is so excited to have Sam by her side on this craziest of crazy adventures!
Ian Wells
Essential Worker of Honor
Ian and Sydney have been friends since 2020, but he and Luke clicked quickly when she introduced them, so now he's one of their jointly favorite people. He's always excited to share his passions with others, so he is a generous host to his friends, whether in getting them a copy of their favorite show or making them fun drinks and tasty food. He is also frequently consulted for tech support help, and Sydney hasn't bought any audio equipment without his input for over 4 years now. We are so very grateful for his love for us and are really mad at his bosses for making him work for basically our entire wedding weekend, but we're glad we live near him and can keep bugging him with love and affection.
Nicolle Miller
Matron of Resilience
Nicolle is one of the strongest people we know. She is a high school counselor, so, somehow, we're not the most chaotic people she knows. She and her husband, Reuben, love those around them with fierce kindness, even when it's the middle of band season, and we are utterly grateful and in awe of them. They're some of our favorite people to go on double dates with, and making Nicolle laugh is one of Sydney's favorite achievements. We're really glad she can join us on our special day :)
Carissa Serrell
Matron of Wisdom
Carissa has been the sweetest older sister figure / mentor Sydney could have ever asked for, and she's been that for pretty much as long as Sydney can remember. Carissa blazed the trail for Sydney in becoming your own person despite being a people-pleasing eldest daughter, and she and her husband, Peter, took time to sit down and talk about married life with Luke and Sydney over FaceTime, which was very life-giving. Sydney's inner child is incredibly excited to get to spend this exciting day with Carissa, whose life-long love and support have played a huge role in getting her to this point.
Rhyan Andrews
Matron of Family
Rhyan is one of Sydney's sisters, so she's been stuck with Sydney since they were 12yo. Rhyan is a thoughtful, kind person, and she was famous in the Fingerson-Teagarden family for writing very sweet letters to people for their birthdays or Christmas. She recently brought the CUTEST baby, Cody, into the world, finally making Sydney the cool aunt she's always dreamed of being. Rhyan has made an intentional habit of reaching out to her sisters, especially when the whole family was going through a very difficult year, which genuinely helped keep our family together, so Sydney is so very grateful for that intentionality and care. Luke and Sydney are really excited that Rhyan, her husband Brian, and little Cody will get to join us on our special day!
Jack Johnson
Comrade of Honor
Jack was Sydney's closest friend in college, and he's one of the few people she's actually kept in decent touch with after graduating. Jack has the rare gift of being able to explain complicated things like Hegel and British History in ways that actually make some sense to people who have never studied them, but he also loves the silliest of stupid jokes and late night giggles. Sydney would be an utterly different person if not for Jack's long-term friendship, and he was the first person she told about her feelings for Luke, so he became one of her biggest encouragers when long distance with Luke for 8 months felt really difficult, reminding her how strongly she felt God's leading and peace when she and Luke made the decision to date despite her having a year of school left. Someday, Jack and Sydney will actually make good on their dream to do a podcast and/or blog together, but, in the meantime, Sydney is really excited to celebrate with him in person!
Heather Baxley
Maid of Cosmetology
Heather Baxley and Sydney became friends through Good Works, but when they learned that they'd both lived in Lee County, FL, they immediately bonded by comparing the sketchiness of certain Walmarts they both knew all too well. Heather has a zest for life that is always contagious, and, despite the obstacles she's faced in life, she continually chooses to be optimistic and have a good attitude. She is always looking out for her friends, and she has so many cool skills to help them with, including the fact that she took cosmetology classes and loves getting to help people feel confident in and about makeup. We're super grateful to have Heather by our side on this exciting day, especially since Sydney knows next to nothing about makeup, and Heather has eased so many worries :)
Adam Fingerson
Ring Bearer
Adam is the greatest kid you'll ever meet. He's kind, sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and super smart. He loves baseball (especially the Dodgers), Formula 1, playing the drums, Dude Perfect, and getting the family together to play sports, even though we're all hilariously bad at them except for him. He's super creative and always came up with new games for us to play when we came home from college on breaks. He is a thoughtful lad, but when he speaks up about something, he's either super insightful, super funny, or both. Luke and Sydney both love Adam a whole lot and are really excited to have him celebrate with us on our special day!
Madison Fernandez

Madison radiates Taylor Swift energy; she's confident and creative and driven! Because she is very cool and creative, she and Sydney became friends by bonding over their love of crocheting and cats while attending the same small group. Their friendship has been a lovely blessing to Sydney, who is very excited to have Madison by her side on this exciting day!
Zoe York
Matron of Girlboss
Zoe is one of Sydney's sisters, so she's been stuck with Sydney since they were 12yo. Zoe has always been a go-getter, and she is currently thriving with her job, husband Zachary, three dogs, and a cat. She gets excited about event planning, and her help has been invaluable in making sure the wedding party had flowers and such! It's been awesome to see her thrive in her life, and we're grateful that she and Zachary will get to celebrate with us as we start ours together!
Leo Duncan
Groomsman
Leo and Luke have been cousins for their whole lives, and buds for as long as they can remember. They got really close after working together for their grandparents during the summer of 2021, and they've navigated the challenges and blessings of committed relationships at pretty much the same time, and it's great to do that together. Leo has a big heart and cares deeply for the people around him, and he's probably one of the funniest people you'll ever meet. While he's often busy traversing Appalachia for work, we're grateful he can make it to this momentous occasion!
Elias Duncan

Elias is Luke's younger brother, and he's one of the best people you could be friends with. He's generous, considerate, and a whole lot of fun to be around. He and Luke have always been close, but as Elias also moves into adulthood, they've gotten even closer. It's been awesome to see him come into his own and thrive in his life, and it means the world that he's celebrating this important day with Luke and Sydney.
Austin Dellinger

Austin and Luke have been friends for over 15 years now, and they both did their Summer Internships with Good Works in the Summer of 2022, where they met this weird girl named Sydney. Thus, there has never been Sydney & Luke without Austin. Austin has become a dear friend to Sydney as well, so both Luke and Sydney are glad that he's part of their special day!
Gabe Lewis

Luke and Gabe grew up going to church together but formed a closer bond in their teen years. Gabe is easy to get along with and is a thoughtful and generous person, but, most importantly, he's a huge pop culture fanatic just like Luke.
Ben Duncan

Ben and Luke grew up together, as cousins do, but got closer around the summer of 2021. Ben and Luke bonded over a shared interest in specific sub-genres of metal music, and some of their favorite memories are driving to Periphery and ERRA concerts together with their friends. He has a very important job that he loves, but Sydney and Luke hope that he can make it to their wedding anyway!
