Taylor's friend Maegan (now married to officiant/groomsman Mike C.) knew Taylor and Patrick were perfect for each other before they even had met. After a few missed opportunities, T&P finally were introduced right before lockdown in 2020. The only thing Taylor remembers about Patrick from this first meeting at a Fells Point dive bar is that he made an obscure reference to the Phantom Menace, and M&M were disappointed to discover that Patrick didn't ask for Taylor's number that night. Luckily for him, there was not much to do in Spring 2020 other than swipe on dating apps, so a couple of months later they matched on Hinge and the rest is history. Unsurprisingly it feels much less daunting going on a date with someone when you already know and love their friends.
