FAQs

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail, and while the wedding will be largely warm colors, you're not required to wear them! Wear whatever you're comfortable in. The ceremony will be in a chapel, so kindly consider this when choosing your attire. We embrace the Southern spirit, so if any gentlemen would like to wear their boots/hats, please feel free to. Red is a perfectly fine color to wear, as are pastel colors, floral print on white, etc. -- it's not controversial at this wedding. We ask you reserve plain white/offwhite for the Bride. If you're not used to Houston in summertime -- dress light! While the wedding and reception will all be indoors, the cocktail hour is both indoor/outdoor. I encourage the ladies to bring comfortable dancing shoes for the reception!

Question

Why are hotel rates crazy?!

Answer

Because we're the luckiest people in the world, and Houston, Texas is a host city for the 2026 World Cup -- which begins on June 11th. We've scoured everywhere to negotiate some of the best price points in the area far in advance, so please take a look under the "Travel" tab to take advantage of these rates. **We HIGHLY encourage you to book your stay as soon as you know of your attendance, in order to avoid surge pricing as a result of the World Cup. If you need help finding affordable accommodations, please reach out at taylormadeboy.browneyedgirl@gmail.com. We have lots of family in the area that may be able to help you. We can also help place you in a group chat to book out an AirBNB or a Vrbo. Just let us know how we can help. 🩷

Question

What's the dance scene?

Answer

Like you even have to ask. ;) Yes, there will be line dancing. And yes, there will be a line of dance for two-stepping, three-stepping, half-stepping, foxtrot, WCS or any other kind of social dance. So if that tickles you, be sure to bring your boots!
