Kelsey and Kevin met the way all great couples these days do, on an online dating app (Bumble). Thankfully, they both swiped right and matched on December 9th, 2023, Kelsey took the bait on Kevin's prompt "Rank the following condiments: Ranch, Chipotle Aioli, and Chik-fil-a sauce". She immediately told him this was the hardest question she had ever been asked, nearly impossible (both clearly big fans of any and all dipping sauces), and proceeded to place ranch in last. For those who know Kevin well, he is a ranch aficionado, so it is truly a miracle we made it here today. Kevin locked in a first date at District Brew Yards later that week where they shared their first of many mutually loved craft beers together, a love for their family and friends, travel, sports, their alma maters, and their distaste for board games. Over the next two years they went on countless walks, explored new restaurants and breweries, attended many Chicago/Notre Dame/Iowa sporting events, and easily slid into each other's lives. One of their favorite spots to take a long walk is through Lincoln Park. Conveniently, Lincoln Park is located very close to Kevin's condo, and also one of Kelsey's favorite spots in the city, so they frequented this spot often. This brought them to their favorite bridge overlooking the city on a blustery, rainy, cold, winter morning (January 10th, 2026). Kevin, who often comments on how this is easily the best spot in the world for ducks to live (no predators!), suggested they stop to admire the ducks. This also being Kelsey's favorite view in the city, she was easily convinced, so they stopped to soak it in despite the weather for a few minutes. It was here Kevin dropped down on one knee and proposed, and Kelsey said "yes". The rest is history, and they can't wait to celebrate with you all and have you along for the ride every step of the way.
