Mykal and I met when we were in high school. He was a junior and I was a sophomore. We had the same Spanish class. We had assigned seats and it just seemed to work out. We didn’t really talk outside of class. While in Spanish class we had to go to a made up Quinceanera, Mykal and I both had to attend. Anyone who knows Mykal knows that he doesn’t like to dance. Well I made him dance with me. It was very funny and a little awkward but it was fun, for me at least. The following year, we started talking more and more after homecoming. Then, on November 16th 2014, Mykal and I went to the movies. We saw St. Vincent, that day we started dating. The first time I spent time with Mykal and his family, after we started dating, I went over to his house. We were sitting in the living room and Mykal and his mom were saying something to each other. The word shekel was used and I lost it. I was in the middle of drinking POG and I had just turned my head. When I laughed I totally spit my drink on Mykal and got it in his mouth. After Mykal graduated he moved to Arizona and I moved back to South Carolina. We spent a year apart. After I graduated high school, I moved to Arizona. A few years after I moved here, I joined the military and Mykal supported me throughout all of it. On May 30th 2019 Mykal and I went to Fossil Creek. We walked all the way up to the waterfall then we went and found a small spot for us to sit at. Mykal proposed to me while we were there and it was very special and romantic. On our wedding date, November 16th 2021, we will make 7 years of being together.
