Travis “Tbone” James Bettcher was born and raised in Dubuque, IA. While most of his childhood was spent out in the woods, he did manage to make it through school and, eventually, graduate from Clarke University. Travis worked everything from construction to serving, delivery to corrections –surprisingly wearing a badge and not the orange! Travis also managed to put in some part time, hours at Longhorn where he later decided to step into a full time, management role in 2015 and keep the family legacy going. Taylor “Tayter” Ann Dolan grew up in Sun Prairie, WI just outside of Madison. Her childhood home was just across a pasture from her aunt Cheryl and uncle Rod’s house, where she kept her horse, Junior. When Taylor wasn’t busy with school, dance, photography or her other part time jobs, she was usually sneaking through the pasture to ride Junior – her little barrel racing rocket donkey. Taylor ended up going to college at the University of Milwaukee and later transferred to the University of Platteville where she was on the equestrian team. While at Platteville, in true Taylor workaholic fashion, she went seeking a job. And, where better to apply then just across the river at Longhorn?! Taylor started at Longhorn late fall of 2019 and quickly made quite the impression with her strong work ethic, personality and even managing to teach Jim (Travis’ dad), the boss, some new jokes! Travis never stood a chance, but decided to try his luck anyways. It started out with a few dinner dates, some Wednesday night line dancing and some range time down at Tri State Outdoors; before you knew it, these two were head over boots for each other. By the end of 2020, Taylor and Travis were inseparable: Dancing, hunting, four wheeling, travelling, horseback riding, shooting, Jeeping, photoshoots, holidays, rodeos and of course, work! Travis was starting to get a sense that “forever of this” seemed pretty darn good! August 4th , 2022 (grandpa Roy’s birthday) Travis thought he’d bless grandpa with another granddaughter and ask Taylor for her hand in marriage. It was a perfect, late summer afternoon; Travis got down on one knee under grandpa’s favorite windmill on the ranch and presented Taylor with a ring. After the shock passed, and realizing Travis was actually being serious (for once), she said YES!! In true western fashion, Taylor and Travis came up with a brand to signify their union. The “Double T, Rockin’ B” brand was a design they created following all regulations and has since been registered with the state of Iowa. It will not only serve as a brand for future livestock on their funny farm, but also as a symbol to their story to come. On September 3rd , 2023 they will be joined together in marriage; Taylor and Travis, rocking the Bettcher name!
