It all started back in 2011 at Springfield Collegiate Institute, where Taylor and Samantha met the way all great teen rom-com couples do—through mutual friends and a lot of awkward, lingering glances. What followed were late-night chats that lasted until the birds started chirping, and countless after-school rides in Taylor’s very memorable forest green Oldsmobile. Eventually, in February 2012, Taylor worked up the courage to pop the big question: “Will you be my girlfriend?” (She said yes, of course.) Cue the high school montage—graduations, awkward prom photos, and the beginning of adulthood. Taylor jumped straight into the workforce with a full-time dispatch job at Inland, while Sam pursued her passion for hairstyling. Life moved forward, but their love only grew stronger—with snowmobiling, off-roading adventures, weekend hangouts with friends, and many, many smoked meats filling their days (and stomachs). Then came 2020, and with it, Covid—and a plot twist no one saw coming. When Sam lost her job, she ended up joining Taylor at Dispatch… at the same desk. For 12 hours a day. Every. Single. Day. And while they didn’t always see eye to eye (hello, passive-aggressive keyboard slamming), it became clear: if they could survive working together in a shared workspace, they could definitely survive anything. So, in June 2020, they bought their first home in Tyndall, Manitoba—on the condition that working at the same desk would no longer be a thing. Taylor got promoted to Transportation Supervisor, Sam moved into Quality Control in Stonewall, and for the first time in a while, they could actually come home and ask, “How was your day?” without already knowing the answer. Then came New Year’s Eve 2024. As the clock struck midnight, Taylor got down on one knee, and just like that—they were engaged! It was the perfect start to the year, kicking off the countdown to “I do.” Now, after 13 years of love, one house, and two ridiculously adorable fur babies, Taylor and Sam are ready for their next big adventure: marriage. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on the dance floor!
