We made the right choice when we right swiped on bumble on each other. Roman had just moved to the states and was offering a plentiful reward on Bumble to make new friends, Taylor had to oblige to uncover the Canadian magic his profile offered. A night was spent shutting down Ponysaurus chatting about everything under the sun, including guessing what Roman was a mix of (hint, Taylor already knew but she couldn't give away her secrets). They have been inseparable since. Taylor then took Roman to his first ever professional hockey game, followed by a romantic dinner in a McDonalds parking lot. On the third date Roman met all of Taylor's friends at her and her roommates Ugly Sweater party. One look at Taylor in a Christmas tree turtle neck and Roman knew, he had to lock this gal down before he left for Canada for Christmas. Time flies by, they move into their first townhome in the peak of COVID. They weren't sick of each other yet, so Roman bought a house. They survived renovating their bathroom their second week in the house, so we knew we were in it for the long haul.
Come January, Roman and our two friends (Maia and Kyle) devised a plan to surprise Taylor (something very hard to do). He got a ring and planned the big question on our big southwest trip. He went around filming out friends and family with the ring to pull an extra fast one on Taylor, literally everyone knew except her. Taylor had had her nails done since December awaiting the big question, when it didn't happen within the first two days of the trip she gave up. But this was a part of the plan, Roman knew he had to wait later into the trip so she didn't suspect a thing. While at Bryce Canyon we hiked to Upper Inspiration point, where Roman got inspired to do the deed. On the fly, Roman gave the signal and Maia and Kyle sprang into action. Taylor forgot to say yes immediately, but we all knew her answer.
