Pat and Taylor met while they were both students at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. It was Taylor's freshman year and, looking for new friends, she went to the semester's first Sci-fi Club meeting. At the meeting, they watched a movie then piled into Pat's minivan and headed to Denny's. A few meetings later, after dropping Taylor and her friends off at their dorm, Pat pulled Taylor aside asked her out on a date. At the time she wasn't ready for anything romantic and so they spent the next year building a great friendship. The turning point came a year later when they were watching TV at Pat's apartment. Pat always kept his window open making the room quite cold. After Taylor expressed she was freezing he offered her one of his sweatshirts. Taylor made a joke that it was so comfy she was going to have to steal it and Pat replied, "You're not my girlfriend, you can't just steal my clothes." Taylor asked him out that night and that sweatshirt is still hers to this day! Pat and Taylor then began building their life together. Moving to Philadelphia, starting their careers, and adopting their adorable pets, JoJo and Kirby! Now Pat and Taylor are ready for the next step and look forward to continuing their love story as Mr. and Mrs. Howlett!
In 2018 Pat and Taylor were starting to think about where they would want to live after Bloomsburg. New York was definitely a contender but after watching some Youtube videos about Philly restaurants, they decided to go on a day trip to Philadelphia that would end with them falling in love with the city. They started the day with lunch at Puyero, visited the Philly Zoo, and concluded their trip at John's Roast Pork. It was an amazingly fun day and as Pat and Taylor got in the car to head back to Bloomsburg, Taylor started apartment searching. Now every time they visit those establishments they are always reminded of the day that brought them to the city they now call home. June 27, 2020, Pat decided to recreate that first Philly day while quarantined at home. He picked up food from Puyero and John's Roast Pork, then came home, knelt down on one knee in the living room and asked Taylor to marry him. JoJo, sensing the excitement, decided to involve herself in the moment so even animals were present for the recreation! Of course, Taylor said yes! And now Pat and Taylor look forward to planning their wedding and celebrating their love with friends and family!
