Please review our FAQ's to avoid any confusion or answer any questions you may have about our big day!
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The Schedule tab through our website offers a description of the attire we request for each of our events. Our wedding colors are shades of Wisteria, Lavender, and Grey for anyone wanting to match or avoid matching the Wedding Party. We would like to see Formal Attire for the day of the wedding, but please do not feel obligated to purchase an outfit to attend; Select the nicest items you have and enjoy wearing!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay within our budget. Our wedding is RSVP only and we will only be able to accommodate those that are listed on your invitation.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We respectfully require an adults-only attendance. While we love your little ones and teenagers, our wedding ceremony and reception are going to be an adults-only event so all guests can relax, drink, and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making the proper arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us!

Do I have to send back my RSVP?

Answer

You are welcome to reply through our RSVP tab listed on our website! We appreciate those that complete and return our RSVP's to us, but it is not required. Please ensure your meal selection is indicated through our website should you reply here.

Where are the Ceremony and Reception taking place?

Answer

Both will be located at the Alexander Homestead! The Ceremony will be outdoors while the Reception will be indoors.

What is the weather like?

Answer

Weather in Charlotte during the month of September averages at a high of 87F and a low of 67F with Sunset around 7:15pm. Arrangements for bad weather have been prepared on-location.

Where do I park?

Answer

The venue offers complimentary parking in a gravel lot adjacent to the venue.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

YES!

What happens after the Ceremony?

Answer

Guests will be escorted into the Dining Hall on-site to find their assigned tables and seats! Drinks at the bar are provided by the Bride and Groom (gratuity has been taken care of.)

Will there be food? Cake? Drinks?

Answer

Yes, yes and yes! Our dinner will be a formal, seated dining experience. Your selection of protein will be accompanied by a starch and vegetable. We will have a cake cutting ceremony, however there will be an assortment of cupcakes available to all guests! Drinks provided at the bar have been chosen by the Bride and Groom; Liquor is prohibited from the premises as well as Smoking. Any drug or alcohol paraphernalia found will result in consequence from the staff.

Will there be vegan/gluten free/vegetarian options available?

Answer

Yes, but choices will be limited to guests who require dietary adjustments such as no dairy, meat, gluten, peanuts, etc.

What if I drink too much?

Answer

We want all of our friends and family to be and stay safe and alive! Alternative transportation for guests who may become heavily inebriated or too intoxicated to safely drive must be arranged prior to the Wedding. Uber will be accessible from the wedding venue, however all cars left overnight will be towed.

Can I post pictures on social media?

Answer

For the reception, YES! Our hashtag is #seeyoulyda. For our Ceremony, we require a DIGITAL-FREE (no cell phones, video cameras, or other capturing devices) service. This is to eliminate distractions AND to keep our ceremony, vows, and intimate moments private/exclusive to our guests we've invited to share this with. Please respect our wishes.
