Question

How are you accommodating the wedding with COVID-19?

Answer

COVID-19 has certainly thrown a wrench in our plans, but we are actively working with our venue to put on a safe event. Here are a few of the many actions we are taking; - We are adjusting our guest list to meet government mandates. Hoping for the best come May, however we are currently expecting to be at 50% capacity. Our hearts hurt for those we will miss on our special day, but we will stream our ceremony virtually and hopefully celebrate again at a later date. - Our venue will have multiple precautions in place, including; masks required when not sitting, eating, or drinking; guest contact tracing prior to arrival; all staff in masks & gloves; 8ft distance of all tables; hand sanitizer available at entrance and all points of surface contact; Bar & DJ plexiglass barriers; additional cocktail service and cocktail tables; pre-portioned passed hors d'oeuvres; and so much more. - Our venue will pre-screen our guests the week of the wedding to address any concerns or questions.

Question

Should I get tested for COVID-19 before the wedding?

Answer

We highly recommend that you get tested for the safety of our guests and event before attending our wedding, especially if you are traveling from out of state. If you are coming to Rhode Island from a state with a positivity rate of COVID-19 greater than 5%, you are required to self-quarantine for 14 days, or provide a negative test for COVID-19 taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in RI. More details can be found at https://covid.ri.gov/ which will have up-to-date information to help you! Be sure to check out your local CVS, Walgreens, Urgent Care, or family physician for available testing in your area. We also recommend familiarizing yourself with your local state guidelines for safe travel to and from your home state.

Question

Where can I get a COVID-19 test?

Answer

The City of Newport has two FREE BinaxNOW rapid testing locations that you can visit at any time during your visit to Newport! We encourage you to utilize this resource throughout the weekend if needed. No appointments are required, and you will receive your results within 15 minutes. Brown and Howard Wharf - 21 Brown and Howard Wharf, Newport RI Edward King House - 34 King Street, Newport RI

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

The average temperature in Newport on May 15th is about 60 degrees, however we will be on the water so a shawl or cover-up is suggested for women! There will be heat lamps on site to keep our gathering cozy throughout the night!

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is formal attire. We recommend men wear suit and tie, and woman wear floor-length dress, cocktail dress, or formal jumper. The ceremony will be held on a dock, so for women we suggest wearing a supportive heel.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All events will be held outdoors!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unless otherwise addressed on your invitation, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate additional guests due to our venue capacity. We appreciate your understanding in advance!
