FAQs

Question

Dress Attire

Answer

Break out your boots and denim! Casual Western attire encouraged—come ready to celebrate! Ceremony will be held outdoors and reception will be partially indoors/outdoors. Really, wear what would be comfortable for a night out on the town: shorts, heydudes, sundresses, button downs are all accepted. We know it's going to be toasty out. - We kindly ask to refrain from wearing shades of white :)

Question

What time do I need to arrive

Answer

Ceramony starts at 5PM, please arrive by 4:45PM and be seated before the Ceremony starts. Reception will start at 6PM

Question

Can I bring a Guest

Answer

The ceremony will be only with close family. For the reception, we could care less... just give us a heads up so that we have an estimate on how much food and booze to have available.

Question

Hotel

Answer

Due to an overlap with a large FAFSA tournament happening in KC the same weekend, hotel availability will be extremely limited—especially near the airport, where prices are also higher than usual. We strongly recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible. You may have better luck finding options in the Overland Park area or by staying with family or friends nearby.

Question

Food

Answer

We have catered Rapido's a Mexican Restaurant - If there are food allergies let the bride/groom know, we understand and would love for everyone to enjoy the night with a meal and dessert.

Question

Is there parking for the Ceremony?

Answer

(1890 The Fields) Parking at the venue is limited, so we strongly encourage guests to carpool if possible. Additional parking will be available at the Platte County Fairgrounds nearby. If you or someone in your party has mobility concerns or difficulty walking, please let the bride or groom know ahead of time so we can arrange golf cart transportation to and from the ceremony.

Question

Parking for the Reception

Answer

(Platte County Fairgrounds) There is plenty of parking available at the fairgrounds. The reception will take place in the Platte Purchase Building, which is air-conditioned and has restroom facilities on-site. Feel free to leave your car at the fairgrounds if you plan to Uber or catch a ride back to where you’re staying—no need to worry about it overnight. We do ask for you to pick up your vehicle by noon the next day.

Question

What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Answer

Well… the show must go on! If needed, we’ll move the ceremony from outdoors to a covered deck attached to one of the buildings on-site (not being used for the reception). If the weather is especially uncooperative, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the building on-site.

Yes, you heard me right! We will have Fireworks to unity the bride and groom, once it gets dusk we will set off a mini firework display. BUT this is not the end of the party, just the beginning! Stay with us to celebrate after the firework display!
