Travel Note
If you’re joining us from overseas, the easiest route is to fly into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). We recommend booking a transfer in Europe (such as London, Amsterdam, or Frankfurt) or Calgary, rather than through Toronto, as Pearson Airport can be extremely busy and not the easiest to navigate. You’ll need to apply for a Canadian Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before your trip — it’s a quick and cheap online application but required for entry into Canada. We also suggest applying for a U.S. ESTA visa just in case your flight is rerouted or connects through the United States. It’s inexpensive and valid for two years, so it’s handy to have either way.
Travel Note
If you’re flying in from the States, you’ve got a few convenient airport options depending on your departure city. You can look into flying into: -Vancouver International Airport (YVR) -Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) -Bellingham International Airport (BLI) whichever offers the best route and price from your area. Just make sure you have a valid, up-to-date passport for entry into Canada. — If you prefer to drive, the easiest border crossing is the Sumas Crossing, which leads directly into Abbotsford, BC. It’s usually less busy than other crossings and puts you close to our wedding destination. To cross the border, you’ll need either a valid passport or an enhanced driver’s license (available in some U.S. states). Make sure whichever form of ID you use is current and valid for international travel.
