The toughest part about wedding planning is not having enough room for all the people we love and want to celebrate with. This means that our guest list is limited to those who are named on the invitation. Thank you for understanding!
Please let us know if you need to park at the venue for accessibility, whether that's due to physical limitations, young children, access to healthcare supplies best kept in a car, or any other reason. Otherwise, we encourage you to taxi to the venue or park on one of the nearby streets.
In your RSVP, there is a section to mention any dietary restrictions. While we cannot guarantee that all foods will be safe for you, we will make sure that you are well-fed for all the courses (canapes during cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert).
We will offer wine during cocktail hour and dinner. A cash bar (with options for payment by card) will be staffed for the rest of the evening.
We do not want anyone buying clothing that is out of budget for our wedding. If you have a jacket and tie or a cocktail dress in your closet, that'll do just fine! We also strongly support thrifted and borrowed clothes. Don't forget comfortable shoes for dancing!
Taylor and Ben identify as part of the queer (2sLGBTQ+) community, and Taylor is proudly trans, using they/he pronouns. This means we will often use gender neutral nouns (e.g., spouse, wedding party member) or change up the gender of nouns on a whim (e.g., husband/wife applied ad hoc). This is also a space where everyone is invited to wear clothing that helps them feel affirmed in who and how they are in the world, and use the bathroom that best aligns with their gender. We request that everyone be respectful, supportive, and nonjudgmental when it comes to gender presentation and washroom use. This is a space where we are celebrating queer joy and the beauty that diversity has to offer.
Taylor is also a drag king, Dr. Androbox, winner of Mr. Capital Pride 2022, and Ben has performed with him many times on stage, including at the drag album launch in Newfoundland. We have invited some of our closest drag friends to put on a family-friendly drag show to open our reception at 9 pm before dancing begins. People of all ages, including kids, are welcome to stay for the drag show.
