FAQs

On this page are a handful of important tidbits for reference throughout the weekend. We will also use this page to post relevant updates closer to the wedding weekend.
Question

How do I get to Veritas?

Answer

We have arranged for buses to transport everyone from the hotels to Veritas and back! Should you want to drive, there will also be parking available on site and you may leave your car overnight.

Question

What time does the bus leave for Veritas and where do I catch the bus?

Answer

Buses will pick up from each of our hotel blocks. The specific pick up location for each hotel is listed below. In each instance, the bus will depart from the pick up spot at 5:00 PM. The Draftsman and The Graduate: Pick up from the front of The University Baptist Church (1223 W. Main Street, across Main Street from The Draftsman and next door to The Graduate). The Omni: Pick up from the front of the hotel, on Ridge McIntire Road. Buses will drop off back at the hotels at the end of the night as well.

Question

What do I wear to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Our wedding is black tie optional. Also note that the ceremony will be outdoors and on grass, so wear appropriate shoes.

Question

What are dinner options at the reception?

Answer

On your RSVP card in your invitation, we are asking everyone to select one of three options. These are: (1) Vegetarian: Seared Gnocchi. (2) Beef: Roasted Garlic Filet Mignon. (3) Seafood: Crab Cake.

Question

How do I get to The Local?

Answer

There will be a shuttle bus Friday evening to take people to the Welcome Reception at The Local, leaving from The Draftsman and The Graduate hotels (picking up in front of the University Baptist Church) at 7:50 PM. If you are staying at The Omni or grabbing dinner on the Downtown Mall or in Belmont before the reception, The Local is just a quick walk away!

Question

How will COVID affect the wedding?

Answer

We hope it does not! While this may change closer to our wedding date based on the situation at the time, we are currently asking that everyone either be fully vaccinated or have a negative test within three days of the wedding.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding ceremony and reception? What about the welcome reception?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception are for adults only, as is the welcome reception. If you need local childcare services during the weekend, we invite you to check out the Local Nanny Network (localnannynetwork.com), a Charlottesville-based network of highly experienced and qualified nannies.

Question

Do I need to bring anything to King Family for polo?

Answer

We will have a few tents set up and have ordered some food and drinks. While we have a few chairs for sitting in, if you are able to bring camping chairs for seating, please do so.
