We had a table on the rooftop & were situated just under the Acropolis with views of Mount Lycabettus We had Greek salad, vegetable soup, Taylor had mousaka and I had “Soutzoukakia” with rice (spicy meat) Delicious Greek dinner
There are 365 churches on the island! We spent a day visiting these churches - a great way to explore Sifnos First, Agios Ioannis (Άγιος Ιωάννης της Χώνης; #2) Second, Agios Symeon (Άγιος Συμεών — we drove straight up a very narrow road and the views of the island were amazing...where we are getting married!) Third, Prophet Elias Church (προφήτης ελίας — this one was further north and also straight up except this time it was a 20 minute walk but the views were definitely worth it); Fourth, Panagia tou Vounou (Παναγιά του βουνού — overlooked Platis Gialos beach); Fifth, Chrysopigi (the most recognizable church on Sifnos located on a peninsula that has split from the mainland)
Resort on the south side of the island High on the mountain near the active volcano with beautiful views Our room had a beautiful patio that overlooked the sea end By far the nicest place that we have stayed between Sifnos, Folegandros & Milos
One of our favorite things we did - breathtaking views of the island from the sea We will be working with Polco to arrange our sailing trip on June 11 out of Sifnos! Captain Angelo and First Mate Loukas (also our personal chef) were so genuine and warm-hearted Sailed the south side of the island Stopping at Gerakas, Gerontas, and Kleftiko They kept us well fed with delicious Greek food (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) & well hydrated
Santorini was not in our original itinerary & we definitely experienced moments that confirmed why... The port was pretty hectic and very crowded Once we got to Mystique we were able to relax and enjoy the views of the village from the coast It was much more peaceful in the resort - so we didn't leave until it was time for sunset & dinner
Definitely recommend catching a sunset at Emmoudi Bay to get away from the crowds The walk from Mystique toward Emmoudi was beautiful & through Main Street of Oia But as we got closer to the coast, it became extremely crowded As we kept walking toward and then down the steps to Emmoudi we were able to get away from the crowd to enjoy the sunset together - watch out for the donkey taxi on the steps!
We had a table with a beautiful view of the coast on the terrace (our hotel actually called to ensure that we did get such) Local bottle of wine Gaias Estate - good dry and full red wine Delicious chili infused olive oil - we brought two bottles home with us Lolita’s for ice cream afterward!
