Just like that Thomas Rhett song says, It all started when Tayla had just taken a huge leap of faith by moving from her hometown in Arizona, to Seattle and into the Vision 16 housing in the heart of the U-District. Fresh in her faith, ready for a new start, not knowing that God was already setting something special in motion. Reagan had grown up in Kirkland, transferred universities a few times, but ultimately ended up finishing his degree living in the 17th Ave house, which is apart of the Vision 16 Community. He was making core memories with his best friends, focusing on his studies, and leading as a facilitator in the house. That same fall, both of us ended up crashing the same Halloween party, one in which neither of us were actually invited to. What started as a very spontaneous night out turned into something unforgettable. Reagan offered Tayla a ride home, and from that moment on, our lives started to intertwine in ways only God could have planned! Our story as you might know wasn’t picture-perfect from the start. We had our ups and downs and more than a few moments where things could’ve gone either way. But through it all, we both used our given hope, and ultimately knew deep down that what we had was worth holding onto. We prayed, grew, and leaned into our faith like never before, trusting that if this was what God wanted for us, He would make a way. Then life took a turn. Reagan moved to Arizona, and we suddenly found ourselves in a long-distance relationship that stretched both our hearts and our patience. A full year of FaceTime calls, and quick weekend visits became our new normal. But the distance between us made us stronger, and reminded us of how much we never wanted to be apart. When Reagan finally moved back to Washington in September 2024, it truly felt like a homecoming in every sense of the word. We’d both walked through seasons of struggle, with our mental health, and our identities; ultimately the Lord redirected our steps, teaching us what it meant to fully surrender our plans and trust His. In that surrender, we continue to find peace, purpose, and a deeper love and trust for one other. After a long time coming, on October 26th, 2025, Reagan took Tayla on a walk near Mount Si in North Bend, Washington. The mountains stood tall around us, the air was crisp, and it felt like time paused for just a moment. There, surrounded by God’s creation, Reagan got down on one knee and asked Tayla to be his forever!!! It was the easiest “yes” in the world, and the kind that feels less like a decision, and more like a promise finally fulfilled. Now, as we step into this next season together, we’re reminded of all the little ways God has woven our story, from two strangers crashing a party, to best friends, to soulmates!! And we can’t wait to see where He leads us next. Thank you to everyone who has shared a part of our story with us, we love you forever!
