We met in fall of 2012 at Whiteville High School while in the J.R.O.T.C program. We didn’t know each other at first or knew each other existed until one day after school during J.R.O.T.C practice. Throughout the school year, we began to spend more time around each other as Demetrius was the captain of the armed exhibition team. Time went by and we began seeing each other outside of school to watch movies downtown and hang out with friends. In spring of 2013, we went to our school’s Military ball together without realizing how life would be for us as the school year was concluding. As of course, sadly, our feelings for one another came to an end as our lives went separate ways. So we thought! Fast forward to January 31st of 2016, we reconnected while remembering the past we had in our younger days. With feelings and memories returning that we thought were gone, we began dating on March 20, 2016. During the four years of our relationship, we’ve traveled far and wide, adding up more reasons why we loved each other, made so many incredible memories, and supported each other during the highs and the lows. It may have taken time but it was well needed for us both to realize the initial spark we had all those years ago. Now, we are becoming one and can't wait to become Mr. & Mrs.

Tatiana and Sharon, Demetrius’s Mother, were planning a surprise birthday party for Demetrius with close family in their hometown. He had no idea and was very surprised! During the celebration, games were played and laughs were shared. As speeches were being made, Demetrius made a speech about Tatiana. Little did she know what was to come next. He asked her to walk across the room to “look” at a card where he would be on one knee. Then THE moment came. Demetrius asked Tatiana “Will you marry me?” and with a tearful and high-pitched “Y-E-S!” it was official! We can’t wait to celebrate this next part of our journey with you on our wedding day!
