Before the wedding weekend officially begins, we’ll gather at the Whirlgig to set up and decorate the reception space to prepare the hall for Saturday’s celebration. This also gives the couple time to settle into the lakehouse and prepare for the weekend ahead. Who is Invited Close friends and family who are helping with reception setup. Many hands make light work, and we’re grateful for the help of our family and friends in preparing the space for the weekend. Friday afternoon is dedicated to preparing for the ceremony and spending relaxed time together. We'll rehearse the ceremony, begin decorating for the weekend celebrations, share a simple BBQ lunch, and enjoy swimming and lake time before getting ready for the evening Blanket Ceremony. This is a time for our closest people to help bring the weekend together and spend meaningful time by the water before the celebrations begin. Who is Invited Bridal Party + Grooms Party + Immediate Family This is a private gathering for those participating in the ceremony and helping prepare the celebration spaces. A sacred family ceremony honoring tradition, culture, and the joining of our families. As the sun sets over the lake, we will gather for our Blanket Ceremony, a meaningful tradition that symbolizes the joining of two lives and two families. This intimate moment is an opportunity to reflect, honor our roots, and share this important step with those closest to us.
