Nickname: The Real Friendship Established: Fall 2013 Song: Trap Queen by Fetty Wap How We Met: Lady Dominators One rainy Thursday evening back in Fall of 2012, I walked into the gym of Fredrick Douglas High School for football practice. I got suited and ran my lap when I came across this young woman in some black tights, a gray cut-off shirt, baby dreads and a black septum ring dangling from her nose. As always, I greet everyone with a hello and went to introduce myself to this new recruit. Hey, I'm Tenielle aka Ten10 and she replies, "Hi I'm Tynisha!" Although, Ty and I clicked, we've def had our ups and downs. She has kept me grounded and pushed me in so many ways, in my career and personal life. The hardest pills to swallow are the ones that's best for you. Ty, you are my pill!

Nickname: Crissy Friendship Established: 2009 Song: Oh McDonald and This Ol Man (She thinks they're the same song) How We Met: Pride Party Circa 2009, I'm at this Pride Party with a Meetup group and Cristy is there with a friend. Somehow Cristy wound up spending the entire night with me and my group (if you know Cristy, this isn't surprising). The night comes to an end and it's time to go home and her friend is nowhere to be found. I'm standing in the middle of the club exhausted with a slightly hysterical girl that I just met, that's even more direction-ally challenged than I am, who lives in Woodbridge. I reluctantly told her that she could stay with me for the night and we'd find her a way home in the morning. Sooooo yeah, I took her home and she kinda never left.

Nickname: My Man Friendship Established: 2016 Album: Adele - 25 How We Met: Lady Dominators Jonathan, aka JP, and I met Fall of 2014. He used to coach on LD prior to my arrival and then made a comeback. It wasn't until Nationals in January 2016 that JP and I established a friendship. I had torn my ACL in September so I was out for the next year. With Tash, I decided I'd surprise the team and meet them in FL. Jonathan had 2 beautiful children at the time and with being away, he would contact them through FaceTime. Having fun as we always do, JP forgot his phone was in his pocket when he got into the hot tub. I had a rental, so I offered to take him to Apple to replace his phone. Little did I know Apple was an hour away. A long ride and good conversation led me to a friend for a lifetime.

I actually don't remember meeting Tiff on the field. I first remember her being at my house for a party and wondering who the h*ll is this girl in my house that I don't know. I learned quickly that she would be the wild child of the team. Judging a book by it's cover, I didn't think that we would be friends, but I was proven wrong...well at least halfway! She's def my wild child but she's come to be one of the most dependable and incredible friends in my life, always willing to help when I call her name in my whining damsel in distress voice.

Nickname: BBB in the WWW Friendship Established: September 2002 Song: Pull Over by Trina How We Met: James Hubert Blake High School I worked in the Guidance Counselor's Office answering phones and letting the staff know if their appointments arrived. Kaili was a new student and was their to speak to her counselor. I invited her to a conversation as she waited for her guidance counselor, who was also the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, Mr. Jeffrey Flach. I was one of Captains of the basketball team and learned that she use to play at her former school in this conversation. Of course, I went into recruit mode and convinced her to come shoot around. She came to tryouts, hit a few shots and we've been BFs ever since. Special K & Monkey T!!!

Nickname: Torism Friendship Established: 2014 Song: Tori Don’t Dance! How We Met: The Lady Dominators! I was introduced to Tori at practice one Thursday evening. I remember thinking that she was super laid back and chill. Eventually, Tori and I developed a friendship as the group that has come to affectionately be known as GOYS was created. Always a listening ear and almost always understanding my frustrations with my other half (love you babe), Tori has often taken me from level 1000 to maybe 100, encouraging me through what are inevitable ups and downs in a relationship. I like to think that she is often the voice of reason...and the one I can roll my eyes with when Ten and her Maid of Honor are doing the most!

This friendship was solidified over my right boob. January 2012, I had an infection in my right breast which forced me to have emergency surgery. Due to the infection, I was unable to be stitch closed. I had already bought my ticket to nationals and paid for my room, so once discharged, I hopped on a plane to FL (waste not, want not). Britt was in school and a nurse at the time - who better to help than her?! So for a week, Britt nursed me back to health and I haven't let her go since. She went from LN to NP - when you have a medical concern/injury, who you gonna call? Nurse Practitioner Brittani!!

Juan was on the team for a bit prior to us becoming friends. I’d probably say the GOYS is what brought us together. Being sensitive, I usually shy away from people that just speak their mind so I avoid getting my feelings hurt. Those that know Juannie, know that she is one to speak her mind, lol. As I got to know Juannie better, the very thing that made me shy away from her is one of the very reasons that I came to love her. Not afraid to be who she is (which is rare these days) and say what she thinks, she became that friend that we all need, the friend that gives it to me straight.

I was talking to my friend Ify who seem to have found a seat near a group that was pretty live. There was a dirty blonde, bubble of energy and smiles that I made her way over into a recruiting conversation I was having with her friend. Maggie expressed how she was offended that I didn't ask her if she wanted to play football. That's when Maggie steps up. There was small talk of what's in your cup and 3 questions later, Maggie was coming to practice. Maggie went from a recruit to one of my most treasured friends and biggest supporters.

I don't remember how she earned that name, but it's still what comes up when she calls me! Aisha came into my life at a time that I didn't know that I even needed her. Moving in with me, we became a support system for each other in what I think for both of us was a turning point in our lives. We don't talk everyday, but when we do, I'm reminded why I thank God for her...and she always tells me that she loves me, so yeah there's that!

She would come over with Cristy, sit on the couch and not really say much. Over the years we began to build our own relationship. I knew Tina considered me a friend the day I came downstairs and she was in my fridge (for years Tina would never open anything in my house). It was something so small but yet monumental.
