Suhayb spotted Tasha on Minder and sent her an instant match message - she accepted! After we'd exchanged a few messages, he happened to be in Houston and asked to meet for coffee. It just so happened that Tasha was in Austin that weekend for a conference. Suhayb didn't want to miss his shot, so he drove back to Austin just to meet up. We both agreed that the first coffee/tea meeting was 'meh' , but we kept texting. A couple of weeks later, Suhayb went to Pakistan while Tasha was on a staycation. We shared stories of our days and after some intense discussions, we decided to start a game of Words with Friends. Somehow, all the competition and trash talk led to a relationship flourishing despite us being on opposite sides of the world at the time, and different cities otherwise.
Given that their relationship took off because of Words with Friends, Suhayb knew he had to incorporate that into his proposal. One day, he told Tasha they were going to meet up with some friends at the park for an Eid picnic. When they got there, it appeared as though none of his friends had arrived. Knowing Tasha was always up for a word game, he handed her the Scrabble box and asked if she wanted to play while they waited. She opened the box to see 'the question.' Her immediate response was "SHUT UP!." But when Suhayb handed her the letters to spell out 'yes' or 'no' - she said YES!
