We met at a local bar. Romantic, I know. We went to the same High School, had a number of mutual friends, and never even made eye contact until years later, that night at the bar. Kyle was living in Port Hueneme and I was living back in my home town after spending some time in San Diego. He was in town visiting and I was having a girls night out. We were introduced by a mutual friend. I remember Kyle wrapping his arms around me that night as if we'd known one another for years... and the rest is history.

Kyle had every detail planned out and I was beyond oblivious. We were at Universal Studios celebrating his mother's annual NBC Christmas party. To say it was magical would be an understatement. Everything was decorated for Christmas, free drinks, and no lines. My favorite part about Universal Studios? The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, of course. The plan was to wait until Laurie, Kyle's mom, was able to take a break from working that night and meet us at the wand shop to get the whole "experience". The night goes on and it's finally time to enter Ollivander's Wand Shop. As we enter the store, i'm confronted by a lady who works there and a number of questions about my personality (trying to figure out which house I belong in and which wand will be mine). She eventually tells me "I have the most perfect wand for you! However, I need to go to the back to get it". Thinking this is just the typical process, I smile and nod. She comes out with a long, skinny box in hand. She opens it and not only was a wand in the box, but the most gorgeous ring I have ever laid eyes on fit snug around the wand. Shocked, I look for Kyle and he's already on one knee beside me. I didn't say yes... I said "of course".
